Homicide: Cops Charged Suspect after Deadly double Shooting. On Tuesday, July 22, detective in Western, Jamaica, charged a laborer with double homicide. The charges are related to a double shooting in Hertford, Westmoreland, in November 2024.
Jovaine Hines, o/c ‘Pooh’, 26, of Hertford district, faces two counts of homicide in connection with the death of 22-year-old Jovaun Locke, o/c ‘Lockie’, and Kemar Lawson, o/c ‘Chargie,’ 26
According reports, at approximately 1:25 p.m. on November 22, Locke and Lawson were inside a house in the Morass district. Three armed men entered the premises and opened fire, hitting both victims multiple times in the upper body.
Residents in the area reportedly heard gunshots and alerted the police.
When officers arrived, they found both men suffering from gunshot wounds. The officers transported the men to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced them DOA.
The police launched an investigation, and arrested Hines during a police operation on Tuesday, July 22. They later charged him with double homicide based on an eyewitness statement.
The police say that the search for the other suspects involved is ongoing.
Hines’ court appearance is pending.
Police charged a St Elizabeth farmer with homicide after Nightclub dancer’s death.
In St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, police charged a suspect with homicide. The charge is in connection with the fatal stabbing of a dancer on June 28, 2025.
The authorities identified the deceased as Nickesha Francis, o/c chocolate, age 34.
Law enforcement identified the suspect as Kenrick Troupe, o/c ‘Brownman’, 33, a farmer from Coke Drive, Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth.
The Santa Cruz police stated that at about 4:00 a.m. on June 28, Troupe and Francis broke into a fight at a nightclub.
During the fight, Troupe allegedly struck Francis on the head with an object before stabbing her multiple times.
Francis reportedly died at the scene.
A post-mortem examination of Francis’ body revealed that she died from stab wounds to the torso and blunt force trauma to the head.
According to the police, they arrested and charged Troupe after reviewing surveillance footage.
Troupe’s court appearance date is pending.
