Jamaica News. Police charged a former Member of Parliament with incest after allegedly sexually assaulted his teenage daughter. A judge granted bail of $300,000 after appearing before the Westmoreland Parish Court.

The court stipulated that accused, who previously represented the People’s National Party, must report to the Frome Police Station every Saturday.

Additionally, he must have not any contact with his daughter. Notwithstanding the seriousness of the case, the court did not impose any travel restrictions on the accused.

Also, to protect the identity of the child, the authorities withheld the name of the accused. This action upset many law-abiding Jamaicans citizens. They believe the authorities should have named the accused like they do when the accused and victim are from the ghetto.

Reports Jamaica News indicate that the alleged incest incident occurred on January 23, 2026. The accused was assisting his daughter with a passport application.

During this process, the accused reportedly took his daughter to verify photographs. Then he allegedly took the minor to his home. While there, he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

After an intriguing police operation at the accused home, law enforcement took the former lawmaker into custody on Monday. The authorities charged him with incest.
