According to a law enforcement source, the abductors later released the woman.
The Soldier detectives charged with girlfriend’s murder remanded until May 20
Damanice Tyrone Williamson, a 27-year-old member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, 29-year-old Tanzanya Dunkley. The incident occurred in Three Chains, Manchester, on April 3, 2026. Williamson was remanded following his first court appearance on Friday. Detectives are monitoring the ongoing proceedings closely.
A psychiatric evaluation and fingerprinting have been ordered by the judge for Williamson. Relatives of both the accused and the victim attended court on Friday, as detectives gathered information for the investigation.
Williamson is represented by attorney Norman Godfrey. He was charged with the murder of Dunkley after confessing that he killed her during a dispute over the weekend, which detectives included in their report.
According to a police source, Williamson claimed that a voice instructed him to commit the gruesome act when he confessed to the killing. Detectives will consider this admission as part of their case.
Law enforcement stated that the senseless act occurred during a domestic dispute between the couple. Reportedly, the dispute began when Dunkley informed Williamson that she was ending their relationship. For further clarity, detectives will review all relevant domestic histories.
