Detectives caught a fleeing Bartender With a Loaded Gun. Detectives in St. James, Jamaica, charged a suspect. A loaded firearm was allegedly seized during an operation in the Tucker district, near Granville, St. James, on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Authorities identified the suspect as Waquar Beaton, 23, a bartender from the Tucker community. Beaton faces charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Detectives caught a fleeing Bartender With a Loaded Gun. Detectives in St. James, Jamaica, charged a suspect. A loaded firearm was allegedly seized during an operation in the Tucker district, near Granville, St. James, on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Authorities identified the suspect as Waquar Beaton, 23, a bartender from the Tucker community.

Beaton faces charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

The Granville detectives stated that at approximately 9:40 p.m., a team of officers conducted a patrol in the Tucker community.

During the patrol, the patrol team observed a group of men standing along the road. As the patrol drew closer to the group, Beaton ran.

As a result, the detectives chased, apprehended, and searched Beaton.

During the search, the police reportedly found one 9mm pistol. It was fitted with a magazine containing five 9mm rounds inside a bag in Beaton’s possession.

The officers placed Beaton in custody, where they formally charged him.

Authorities have yet to decide on a court appearance date for Beaton.

On Thursday, July 3, detectives from the Westmoreland Police Division charged a suspect with burglary, rape. They also charged him with assault causing actual bodily harm. The charges are related to an incident that took place in Bamboo Walk, Georges Plain on June 27, 2025.

Authorities identified the accused as 31-year-old Abaqio Gooden, otherwise called ‘Bobby’, a laborer of Georges Plain,

According to detectives Savanna-la-Mar, at about 10:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, a woman securely locked her house and went to bed.

Later, a loud noise reportedly awoke her, and she saw Gooden kicking in her front door.

He reportedly entered the house and threatened the complainant before allegedly sexually assaulting her.

The complainant reported the crime to the police. On Saturday, June 28, community residents apprehended Gooden and handed him over to the police.

Following an investigation, detectives formally charged Gooden on Thursday, July 03. His court appearance date is pending.
