Police Officers in St. Ann and Manchester Launched Murder Probes. Police officers in Christiana, Manchester, Jamaica, have swiftly launched an urgent investigation. They are looking into the death of a farmer in the Craighead district on Friday night, July 4, 2025.
Authorities identified the dead man as Chevroy Dunwell, 28, from the Babson district in Coleyville, Manchester.
According to reports, at about 9:40 p.m., men armed with guns attacked and shot Dunwell while he was visiting the Craighead community.
Concerned passersby promptly transported him to the Percy Junior Hospital, but it was too late to save him.
Hospital authorities pronounced Dunwell DOA.
Law enforcement personnel have yet to prove a motive for the deadly shooting.
Police officers responded to a fatal shooting in Ocho Rios.
Detectives in St Ann have started an investigation into the fatal shooting of a St. Catherine resident in Ocho Rios Friday night, July 4, 2025.

Police officers identified the deceased as 53-year-old Gerald Kensley Small, also known as ‘Jerry’. He was a businessman from the Commodore district in St Catherine, Jamaica.
According to eyewitnesses, at about 11:35 p.m., Small was standing along Main Street near a bar in Ocho Rios. Suddenly, men armed with guns approached him and opened fire, hitting him.
Passersby assisted the injured man to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him DOA.
Police officers are urging the community to come forth with any information they may have. This information could help prove a motive for the fatal shooting.
In Other News. Police officers shot and injured a man in Manchester on Saturday, July 5, 2025, during an alleged confrontation. The authorities stated that shortly after 3:00 p.m., a team of police officers responded to the area. The victim was reportedly involved in a confrontation with another man. When the police accosted him, he allegedly brandished what appeared to be a gun. As a result, one of the police officers shot him in the upper body. Further checks revealed that it was a wooden imitation gun.
The police officers transported him to the hospital, where the authorities admitted him. Authorities said his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
