Deadly Family Feud: Uncle Shoots Nephew in Bog Walk. On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, a bitter argument occurred in Bog Walk, St. Catherine. It was over a piece of property between a man and his uncle. The altercation ended with the nephew dead and the uncle hospitalized.
Authorities identified the dead nephew as 31-year-old Demar Facey, a laborer from Swamp Lane in Bog Walk. He allegedly attacked his uncle with a machete.
As a result, the uncle, who is a licensed firearm holder, opened fire in self-defense.
The police said the deadly family feud reportedly occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m.
Facey reportedly attacked his uncle during an argument over family land.
The argument turned physical. During the melee, Facey allegedly struck his uncle with a machete. After being struck, the uncle reportedly fired his weapon, hitting Facey.
The police responded and transported both men to the Linstead Hospital for treatment, where they were admitted for care.
Unfortunately, Facey later succumbed to his injuries.
The Bog Walk police are investigating the deadly family feud.
Gun Violence in Jamaica: Man Killed in Fairview, Spanish Town
On Monday, June 16, 2025, hoodlums in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, gunned down a 52-year-old man in the Fairview community, according to the police.

Authorities ID the deceased as Samuel Reid, a caregiver from Fairview Avenue.
At around 4:50 p.m., residents heard loud explosions and summoned the police.
Upon arrival, the police found Reid lying face down on a roadway suffering from presumed gunshot wounds.
The police transported the injured man to the Spanish Town Hospital, where the medical staff pronounced him dead.
The authorities have yet to prove a motive for the deadly shooting.
Detectives assigned to the Spanish Town Police Station are investigating the matter.
Police confrontation leads to fatal shooting in Hanover
Cops in in Hanover, Jamaica, fatally shot a suspect wanted for murder during an alleged confrontation. The authorities said the deadly shooting occurred on Tuesday morning, June 17, 2025.

The police identified the deceased as Gary Pryce. Law enforcement featured him in their Wanted Wednesday campaign two weeks ago.
Pryce was being sought by the Hanover Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB). Law enforcement fatally shot him in the Old Pen district in Hanover during a confrontation.
Also, the police seized a 9mm pistol along with two rounds of ammunition at the scene.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officials have notified the Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM).
According to INDECOM 148 Jamaicans had died in police fatal shootings as of June 12, 2025.
At that point, the police had reported 12 fatalities for the month of June.
