Law enforcement authorities in Eastern Kingston say gang feuding is behind Monday morning’s triple murder on Bray Street in Dunkirk/McIntyre Villa, Eastern Kingston.
The Commander of the Division, Superintendent Tommilee Chambers, confirmed the shooting and said the drive-by occurred at about 10:00 a.m., Monday morning, October 16, 2023.
“It’s a gang conflict between men from One-Ten, the Black Street gangs. There is an internal conflict going on,” she told The Gleaner.

Chambers noted that the Police are following several leads in their investigation. So far, the Police have only
identified one of the men as ‘Shaggy.’
According to preliminary information, thugs in a motor car opened fire on a group of gangsters sitting on an old refrigerator along Bray Street. After the shooting ended, residents found three men suffering from gunshot wounds all over their bodies.
Police responded to the shooting. Hospital authorities pronounced the men dead on arrival.
Monday’s shooting was the latest in a series of incidents that resulted in multiple fatalities.
The Police are investigating the deadly shooting.
Police charged a Westmoreland suspect with bus operator’s murder charges.
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica —Gum Shoes in Westmoreland arrested and charged a 19-year-old suspect with the shooting death of 49-year-old Clive Atkinson, a bus operator, on September 16, 2023, in Hendon, Westmoreland.
The authorities identified the suspect as Kevin ‘Josh’ Gorden, age 19, of Ricketts Street in Westmoreland.
The Police charged him with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
According to reports, Clive ‘Grabba’ Atkinson was loading his bus when three men on bikes with firearms approached him and opened fire. He attempted to run but fell, and the gunmen kept firing at him.
The Police responded and transported Atkinson to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.

His court date is pending.
Police identified the man who drowned at Blue Lagoon in Portland.
The Police have identified the Catherine man who reportedly drowned while swimming at the Blue Lagoon in Portland on Sunday, October 15, 2023, as 23-year-old Roje Murray, a construction worker.
According to reports, At about 1:00 p.m., Murray, who was on a trip with friends from St Catherine, ran into difficulties while swimming.
The Police said Murray failed to adhere to safety rules and regulations, including wearing a life jacket, before entering the water.
Murray had reportedly dared his friends to swim approximately 200 meters wide across the Lagoon.
The Police said that while attempting the swim, Murray ran into difficulties.
His friends, who were said to be some distance ahead, were reportedly unaware of what was taking place until sometime after.
Divers from the Alligator Head Foundation helped to locate Murray’s body.
Culture and Entertainment Minister Olivia Grange has said the death was regrettable.
“This unfortunate occurrence amplifies the need for all facility users to comply with the regulations primarily for their safety. I extend my sympathy to the young man’s family, relatives, and friends,” she said.

Three died in a fiery crash in Westmoreland Monday night.
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Three are said to have died after their motorcycles collided with a truck in Waterworks, Westmoreland, on Monday night, October 15, 2023.
The identities of the deceased are not yet known.
According to preliminary reports, the truck caught fire shortly after the collision.
The accident caused a traffic pile-up on the main thoroughfare from Montego Bay to Savanna-la-Mar.
Lifeguard and waiter charged with shooting with intent in St Ann.
ST ANN, Jamaica — Police in St Ann charged a lifeguard and his waiter accomplice with multiple breaches of the Firearms Act after allegedly shooting at the complainant on Septem 30, 2023.
The Police charged Paul Barnett, o/c ‘Reptile,’ age 27, a lifeguard, and Marco Simms, age 27, a waiter, with shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition. Both men are from Mammee Bay addresses in St Ann.
According to the St Ann police, Barnett and Simms attacked the complainant, gun butted him, then opened fire on the victim, hitting him before escaping.
The complainant reported the incident to the Police. The Police launched an investigation and arrested both suspects during an October 14, 2023 operation.
Their court appearance date is pending.
