Crime in Jamaica: Recent Charges Against Hairdresser and Barber. In St. Catherine, Jamaica, the police charged a woman with misprision of a felony and accessory after the fact. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred in Portmore, St. Catherine, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Law enforcement identified the accused as 19-year-old Jada Anderson, a hairdresser from Dolphin Way in Portmore, St Catherine.
The Portmore police stated that Anderson became aware of a crime that her partner committed, but she did not inform the police as required by the law. Instead, she assisted in hiding the accused and prevented his arrest.
Law enforcement arrested Anderson on Tuesday, June 3, during an operation. The police formally charged her after a question-and-answer session.
Her court appearance date is pending.
Crime in Jamaica: Police charged a Westmoreland barber with murder.
Detectives in Westmoreland, Jamaica, charged a barber. He allegedly fatally wounded a man in the Castle Mountain community in Westmoreland. The police said the deadly shooting occurred on May 29, 2025.

Law enforcement identified the dead man as Paul Martin, 42. Martin was a resident of the Castle Mountain community.
The police named the shooter Shavoy Daley, o/c Thirty-six-year-old Shavoy Daley, otherwise called ‘Sabaski’ or ‘Ricardo,’ 36. He faces charges of murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Investigators from the Savanna-la-Mar Police Department stated that on May 29, 2025, a relative of Martin reportedly visited his house. The relative wanted to check on him. The last time she saw him alive was Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Upon arrival, she knocked and entered the house and discovered Martin’s lifeless body in his bed.
She promptly alerted the police, who responded.
The police arrived and found Martin’s body in a bed. It was lying on its back. There was a gunshot wound to the head.
The police processed the scene and removed the body to the morgue.
Detectives launched an investigation that led to Daley’s arrest. They formally charged him on June 4.
His court date is pending.
