Fatal Violence in Jamaica: St Ann and Westmoreland Cases. Police charged a suspect after they and others allegedly broke into a premises in Clark’s  Town, Trelawny, assaulted the homeowners, and set their dwelling ablaze.

Investigators identified the accused as Floyd Gray, 37, chauffeur of Brook Green, Ocho Rios, in St Ann, is charged.

Law enforcement charged Gray with murder, arson, shooting with intent, and other gun-related charges.

According to the police, The fatal violence occurred on Tuesday, October 152024. Gray and his accomplices kicked off the front door of a residence in Clark’s Town.

They allegedly fired several shots, one of which hit a woman before setting the house ablaze.

The police responded, and upon arrival, they assisted the victim to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

Gray later surrendered to the police, who formally charged him.

His court date is pending.

On Sunday, police charged a Westmoreland man with murder after he allegedly used a machete to inflict fatal wounds on a woman.

Westmoreland Man Charged with Murder After Machete Incident

Law enforcement named the accused Dwayne Anglin, 42, a businessman of Truro district in Westmoreland.

Dead is Sydonia Martin, 29, a travel agent from the Truro district, also in Westmoreland.

The police said the tragic fatal violence unfolded at about 3:30 a.m. Martin, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, stood outside Anglin’s gate and began hitting his car with stones.

Anglin, reportedly armed with a machete, chased and held Martin along the roadway. And a verbal altercation broke out. Moments later, the altercation turned physical.

During the melee, Anglin allegedly used the machete and chopped Martin in the head.

Martin reportedly fell to the ground, and a resident intervened and pulled the accused off of her.

They rushed her to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where the authorities admitted her in critical condition.

Hospital officials later transferred Martin to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James, where they succumbed on Tuesday.

Anglin later surrendered to the police, who formally charged him with murder. 

His court appearance date is pending.
