Law enforcement officers responded to a murder scene on Salt Pond Road, Spanish Town in St. Catherine, Tuesday morning. Unknown assailants shot and killed a pedal cyclist as he traveled along the Roadway.
Dead is Dennis Stewart, 54, of no fixed address.
According to reports, at about 5:45 a.m., residents heard explosions near a property along Salt Pond Road and alerted the police.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found Stewart along the Roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
The officers swiftly transported Stewart to the Spanish Town Hospital, where the medical staff pronounced him dead.
The police are still working to prove a motive for Stewart’s death.
Detectives from the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the matter.
26-Year-Old Kenroy Facey Killed in St Elizabeth Shooting
Residents in George’s Valley, Balaclava, St Elizabeth summoned law enforcement officers Monday after gunmen shot and killed a resident.
The victim has been identified as Kenroy Facey, also known as ‘Bandulu.’ 26, a community resident.

According to the police report, Facey was at a shop in the community around 8:25 a.m. when men armed with guns attacked and opened fire on him.
The police responded and transported the wounded man to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
Investigators are yet to prove a motive for the fatal shooting.
Detectives from the Black River Criminal Investigation Branch are leading the investigation.
Three Gunmen Shot Dead by Law Enforcement Officers in Clarendon
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing a triple fatal police shooting. The authorities said the shooting unfolded during a confrontation in Clarendon on National Heroes Day, Monday, October 21.

According to reports, at least three alleged gunmen were shot and killed during the armed confrontation with law enforcement officers.
The allegations are that shortly after 2 p.m., law enforcement officers were traveling along Bustamante Highway. The team signaled the driver of a white Toyota Probox motorcar with five men on board to stop.
The driver disobeyed, and the occupants aboard the vehicle allegedly opened gunfire at the police.
Law enforcement officers returned the fire, and a gun battle ensued, which ultimately ended on Hazard Drive in May Pen.
When the shooting ceased, the police found three suspects suffering from gunshot wounds, and two managed to escape.
Law enforcement officers transported the wounded to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced them dead.
The police believe the deceased men were wanted for serious crimes in the parish.
