Kingston Gun Attack: Suspect Charged with Multiple Crimes
Illegal Gun: Police Charged Two Suspects in Kingston. Police in Western Kingston, Jamaica, have charged a suspect. The charge is related to the March 17, 2025, gun attack at a home on Raphael Road in Kingston.
Authorities have identified the accused as Kimoy ‘Kimmy’ Shaey, 31, from Wellington Road, Kingston 13.
Investigators charged Shaey with shooting with intent, possession of an illegal gun, and using a firearm to commit a felony. Additionally, they charged him with unauthorized possession of ammunition and being part of a criminal organization.
According to the police, at about 10:40 a.m., a group of eight men allegedly armed with illegal guns stormed into a woman’s house uninvited. The accused was allegedly among the group of men.
Then, they demanded that the woman tell them where her father was.
When the gunmen did not find the woman’s father, they allegedly set fire to a motor vehicle parked nearby.
Sensing danger, the woman ran from the scene. The men with illegal guns chased her and allegedly fired several shots at her.
Fortunately, the frightened woman escaped the wrath of the enraged gunmen. She then sought refuge in a house within the community.
Later, the complainant reported the incident to the police.
The police acted swiftly and launched an investigation, which led them to arrest Shaey’s.
Investigators charged Shaey after collecting eyewitness statements and conducting a question-and-answer session in his attorney’s presence.
The police said Shaey’s court appearance date is pending.
Police Constable arrested with Illegal gun in Kingston
A 28-year-old police Constable from the St Mary police division is in custody. Law enforcement allegedly caught him with an illegal firearm. This happened during a stop-and-search operation in Kingston on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

The authorities charged the Constable with possession of an illegal gun and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
According to reports, at about 12:01 a.m., a team of cops from the Kingston Western division conducted a stop and search operation in Denham Town.
During the operation, law enforcement held the Constable. He had a Smith & Wesson 40 pistol. The illegal gun was fitted with a magazine containing 12 cartridges.
Detectives from the Denham Town Criminal Investigations Branch are probing the matter.
