Manchester Car Dealer Charged in 2024 Murder Case
Murder and Wounding Charges Filed in Manchester and Sav. On Monday, March 31, 2025, police charged a Manchester car dealer. The charge was for the May 2024 shooting death of a man. The deadly shooting occurred at the man’s gate in the Lanchester district in Manchester, Jamaica.
Dead is 30-year-old Leondrew Clarke, otherwise called ‘Leo’ or ‘John Wick, ‘ of Lanchester district, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
The authorities identified the accused as Sandre Swaby, known as Budha, from Bethel Isle in the Newport district of Manchester.
Murder and Wounding Charges. Detectives indicted Swaby with murder. They also charged him with possession of a prohibited weapon. Additionally, he was indicted for using a firearm to commit a felony. Furthermore, there was an indictment for unauthorized possession of ammunition.
On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Clarke was sitting at his gate when a car pulled up and stopped beside him.
Then Swaby reportedly exited the vehicle. He opened fire in Clarke’s direction. Clarke was hit in the upper body. Swaby then escaped in the waiting car.
Concerned citizens took Clarke to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the medical staff.
Later, the police responded, processed the scene, and launched an investigation.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Swaby on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Murder and Wounding Charges. Investigators charged Swaby on Monday, March 31. They indicted him after an identification parade. A question-and-answer session also took place in the presence of his attorney.
Swaby’s court appearance date is pending.
Westmoreland Teen Charged for Stabbing Family Member
On March 31, 2025, detectives in Westmoreland arrested and charged a suspect. He allegedly inflicted several stab wounds on a relative during a dispute.

Murder and Wounding. Investigators identified the accused as Demar Rankine, 19, a laborer from Georges Plain in Westmoreland. The authorities charged the accused with wounding with intent.
The Savanna-la-Mar police reported that a dispute developed between Rankine and an unnamed relative at about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27.
During the dispute, Rankine reportedly used a knife to inflict stab wounds all over his male relative’s body.
Family members helped the injured individual. They quickly transported them to the hospital. The medical staff admitted him in serious condition.
Hospital authorities informed the police about the situation. The police then visited the injured man in the hospital and launched an investigation.
On Monday, March 31, Rankine turned himself into the police in the company of a Justice of the Peace.
Murder and Wounding. Investigators later charged the accused after collecting a statement from the victim.
A date for Rankine’s court appearance is still pending.
