Fatal Police Raid: Cops Killed Elbow Gang Leader Corey Rowe

Cops Charged Mandela Highway Robber and Murder Suspect. On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, cops in St. Catherine, Jamaica, charged a suspect with the alleged robbery and fatal shooting that occurred along the St. Catherine section of the Mandela Highway on June 11. Authorities identified the suspect as Nicholas Bhalai, o/c, 'Coolie Bap,' 24, a laborer of Ferry, district, in St Catherine, Jamaica.

Fatal Police Raid: Cops Killed Elbow Gang Leader Corey Rowe. Early Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025, the security forces reportedly fatally wounded a suspect. They believed this suspect was the alleged leader of the Elbow Gang. This gang operates in Central Village, St. Catherine, Jamaica.

The authorities said the tragic police shooting unfolded in the Cassia Park community in St Andrew during a targeted raid.

Fatal police raid. The dead is Corey Rowe, otherwise known as Rasta, 39.

Senior Superintendent Mark Harris (acting), Commanding Officer for the St Andrew Central police division, confirmed the shooting. He stated that the police allegedly recovered a firearm from Mr Rowe after the shooting ceased.

The police also seized more than 150 rounds of ammunition.

According to early reports of the fatal police raid, the police visited a property on Reece Road. This was in the Cassia Park community. They arrived sometime after 4:00 a.m. They were in search of Corey Rowe.

Upon seeing the police, Rowe attempted to escape in a silver Probox motorcar.

Law enforcement signaled him to stop, but Rowe allegedly opened fire on the security forces. The security returned fire.

The vehicle later crashed into an embankment along Cassia Park Road near the Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf.

Upon inspecting the vehicle, the officers discovered Rowe. He was suffering from gunshot wounds. A black Ruger SR9C firearm was in his hand.

The cops say the serial number on the pistol is partially erased and contained a magazine with two 9mm rounds.

After the fatal police raid, law enforcement transported Rowe to the hospital, where the medical staff pronounced him dead.

Additionally, the police searched the premises where Rowe was hiding and found 150 9mm rounds on a kitchen shelf. Plus, four pounds of vegetable matter resembling ganja in a black plastic bag.

In addition, the police found four pounds of a similar substance. The substance was in a black parcel inside the motor vehicle Rowe was allegedly driving.
