Law enforcement identified the deceased as Kurt Thompson, 30, from Buckhan Avenue in Kingston.

According to the police, Thompson was a member of the Beng Gang, which is based in the New Haven community. The police they had arrested and charged him with illegal possession of a firearm.

The court convicted and sent him to prison, but the authorities released him in 2017.

Not long after Thompson came from prison in 2017, cops arrested and charged him with possession of an offensive weapon. They later released him.

Law enforcement operatives were reportedly on curfew patrol in an unmarked vehicle. This occurred in the New Haven community on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The team allegedly saw a man walking a man walking with a gun in his hand.

When the police allegedly accosted the man, he pointed the weapon at cops. Once the suspect realized the men in the care were cops, he attempted to flee.

Law enforcement reportedly pursued him to a premises on Bolivar View. A shootout unfolded there. During the shootout, the police fatally shot Thompson.

Law enforcement has started searching for three suspects in St. Mary, Jamaica. These suspects allegedly robbed a bar in Tower Isle early on Sunday morning, March 23, 2025.

Around 4:00 a.m., patrons enjoyed themselves at a bar in the Valley Bush section of the community.

Four men armed with guns entered and began robbing patrons of their cash, cell phones, and liquor.

The robbers then fled the scene in a motor vehicle, which later crashed just a few meters from the bar.

The vehicle reportedly caught fire, but no one was injured in the blaze.

law enforcement responded promptly and initiated an investigation.

During a snap police operation in the community, officers allegedly came under fire from the four armed men. Law enforcement returned fire, injuring one of the suspects, while the other three managed to escape.

Officers rushed the injured man to Port Maria Hospital. Sadly, the authorities pronounced him dead.

Law enforcement found a Glock 9mm pistol with a magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition. They also discovered a cell phone believed to belong to one of the patrons and money on the deceased.

The police are actively pursuing the other suspects.

In St. Catherine, Jamaica, police have launched a search for the driver of a motor car. The driver allegedly escaped from a checkpoint. He left behind a loaded firearm in the early hours of Sunday morning, March 23, 2025.

At approximately 1:10 a.m., a police team was conducting a vehicular checkpoint along the Treadway main road near Linstead in St. Catherine.

They signaled for the driver of a red-plate Toyota Probox to stop. The driver complied but quickly informed the police that he needed to urinate.

The suspect pretended to urinate. Allegedly, they threw an object into nearby bushes. Then, the suspect got back into the car and drove off at high speed.

The police later recovered the discarded object. Law enforcement found that it was a 9mm pistol. It had a magazine containing four rounds of ammunition.

The Linstead Criminal Investigation Branch is conducting an investigation.
