Spalding Incident: Man Shot After Attacking Officer
Police Shootings: Gayle in St Mary and Spalding, Clarendon. On Saturday, March 8, 2025, a police officer shot and injured a man. The man had confronted the officer with a piece of wood in Spalding Square. The incident was caught on amateur video.
Police Shootings. he man suffered a gunshot wound to his left hand during the incident. It occurred around midday in the town that borders Manchester and Clarendon.
A video of the incident shows two police officers walking towards a service vehicle. Then, a man armed with what looked like a piece of board approached one of the officers.
Police Shootings. One of the police officers drew his firearm and aimed it at the man. The man raised the board towards the officer, and a loud explosion followed.
Additionally, the video also showed the man walking away from the police in his bloody white T-shirt. Later, he wrapped it around his injured hand. He then jumped into the back of a pickup transporting cooking gas cylinders.
Reportedly, hospital officials admitted the injured man under police guard.
Police Shootings: Escapee recaptured during shoot-out with St Mary police.
Authorities at the Oracabessa PD in St. Mary, Jamaica, reported that cops recaptured an escapee. He was one of seven men who escaped from the Oracabessa Police lockup in December 2023.
The police identified the accused as Nolando Atkinson. They recaptured him on Friday, March 7, 2025, during an operation in the Wood Park community of Gayle, St. Mary.
During the operation, the police reportedly confronted two men whose behavior aroused their suspicions upon the police approach.
As the police got closer, the men attempted to flee. One of them pulled out a gun and fired at the officers.
Police Shootings. Reportedly, the police returned fire, and the suspects escaped into nearby bushes.
While escaping, the gunmen encountered another police team and opened fire on them.
A shoot-out ensued; during the gun fight, the police shot and injured Atkinson.
Unfortunately, Atkinson’s accomplice escaped the dragnet.
