FALMOUTH, TRELAWNY, Jamaica–A police officer shot and killed a man during a confrontation outside a nightclub in Falmouth, Trelawny, on Saturday morning, November 4, 2023.
The authorities identified the deceased as Adju Hall, aged 25, from Scarlett Hall in Trelawny.
According to reports, at around 5:10 a.m., Hall and the policeman were among the patrons outside the nightclub when an altercation developed between Hall and another man.
The cop intervened and tried to separate the men. Hall took exception and reportedly began punching the cop in the face repeatedly. It was at that point the officer pulled his private revolver and discharged three rounds, hitting Hall.
Good Samaritans assisted Hall to the Falmouth Hospital, where he died.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has commenced a probe into the incident.
Police found a gun, and ammo found wrapped in socks

LUCEA, HANOVER, Jamaica – The Hanover Police arrested two men on Friday, November 3, 2023, following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an operation in Cave Valley, Green Island, in Hanover.
The Lucea Police stated that between 6:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., the police conducted an operation in the community and carried out a search at a particular premises.
During the search, law enforcement officers found 33 9mm cartridges wrapped in a pair of socks inside a red bag concealed inside a sofa.
A further search of the premises led the officers to one 9mm Glock pistol fitted with a magazine containing five 9mm cartridges.
The police took two persons into custody but have withheld their identities pending further investigation and formal charges.
St Catherine higgler charged following firearm and ammunition seizure
KINGSTON WESTERN, Jamaica – On Friday, November 03, 2023, law enforcement officers assigned to the Kingston Western Division arrested and charged a suspect with breaches of the Firearms Act following the seizure of a gun and ammunition along Bentley Lane, Kingston 13.
The authorities charged 41-year-old Delano Gayle, a higgler of Winding Trail, Independence City, Portmore, St Catherine, with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
A source from the Denham Town Police Station stated that at about 4:30 p.m., law enforcement officers intercepted a motor vehicle with Gayle aboard along Bentley Lane. The police conducted a search of the vehicle in Gayle’s presence.
During the search, the officers found a 9mm pistol along with two magazines containing twenty 9mm cartridges in a secret compartment under the rear passenger seat of the car.
The police arrested Gayle and later charged him. His court appearance date is pending.
Police charged a 57-y-o man with breaches of the Firearms Act

LIONEL TOWN, CLARENDON, Jamaica—Police officers in Clarendon charged a 57-year-old man with breaches of the Firearms Act following the seizure of a .38 revolver loaded with two live cartridges that the police found in his possession on Saturday, October 28, 2023, along Water Lane, Exeter in Clarendon.
The police charged Alphanso Campbell, aged 57, of Bustamante Drive, Lionel Town, with unauthorized possession of ammunition and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The authorities at the May Pen Police Department stated that at about 12:45 p.m., while conducting an operation, they signaled a motorcyclist to stop. He complied, but a noticeable bulge in his waist aroused the cops’ suspicion.
The police searched the suspect’s person and found the firearm and ammunition.
They arrested the suspect and subsequently charged him. His court date is pending.
