ODPP Indicted Two Police Officers For Wounding With Intent. On Thursday, July 18, 2025, two members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force appeared before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court. The matter before the court was a non-fatal shooting incident that occurred on January 1, 2024, in Seaview Gardens, Kingston. The officers charged are Corporal Lavon Francis and Corporal Kawain Johnson.

Crimes and Criminals in Jamaica: Police Charged Two with Murder. Two men have been charged with murder following two separate shootings in the Corporate Area, one in July and the other in October.

According to police reports, the suspects are 30-year-old Mark Ferron, also known as ‘Wayne’ or ‘Mango Man,’ a painter from Tavern Drive in St. Andrew, and 28-year-old Christopher Latouche, a laborer from Upper Love Lane in downtown Kingston.

Both men face several charges, including murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Crimes and Criminals in Jamaica. Ferron’s charges are related to the death of 35-year-old Rohan Seymour, also known as ‘Boss,’ who was shot and killed in Greenwich Town on July 4.

Reports from the Hunts Bay police indicate that Seymour was cleaning debris from the roadway when a group of armed men, including Ferron, approached him.

After a brief conversation, the gunmen allegedly opened fire on Seymour, hitting him multiple times. He later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Crimes and Criminals in Jamaica. In a separate incident, the police charged Latouche in connection with the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Andre Burke, also known as ‘Crawb-Up,’ a vendor from Love Lane.

According to police reports, on Thursday, October 31, Latouche and an accomplice allegedly shot and killed Burke as he was walking home.

Court dates for the two accused men are yet to be determined.

Crimes and Criminals in Jamaica. A Burmese-born medical doctor, who had been living in Jamaica since 1997, was found dead with his throat slashed at his home in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, on Sunday afternoon. 

The 57-year-old general practitioner, Dr Aung Naing, was reportedly living alone.

Concerned neighbors alerted the police after not seeing him for several days. 

Dr Naing started his career as an intern at the Kingston Public Hospital after his arrival from Burma (now called Myanmar), an Asian country. 

He then worked at the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital and later at the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, Hanover.

Up to his death, Naing operated a private practice in Savanna-la-Mar. 

According to the police, there was no evidence of forced entry into the home.
