Justice Served: Danielle Rowe’s Killer Gets Life Sentence. On Friday, December 20, Supreme Court Judge Justice Carolyn Tie-Powell sentenced Dental assistant Kayodi Satchell to life in prison.
Justice Tie-Powell handed down the sentence after Satchell pleaded guilty to the murder of eight-year-old Danielle Rowe. Justice served, the Court stipulated that Satchell would be eligible for parole after serving 27 years and four months.
Also, the Court sentenced Satchell to six years and three months for child stealing, but the sentences will run concurrently.
During the sentencing, Justice Tie-Powell characterized Satchell’s actions toward Danielle as “evil.” She emphasized that Danielle’s death had deprived her family of so much. She highlighted the impact on Danielle’s brother, who asks for her every day, and her sister, who is always angry and expresses a desire to die.
Justice served, Satchell admitted that she snatched Rowe from Braeton Primary and Infant School in Portmore, St Catherine, on June 8, 2023. Then, she took the child to a location in St Andrew, where she fed her a meal before slashing her throat.
A member of the Jamaica Defense Force later stumbled upon the severely wounded child along Roosevelt Avenue in St Andrew. She succumbed to her injuries in the Bustamante Hospital for Children two days later, on June 10.
Justice served. In September 2024, Satchell pleaded guilty to a shocking crime that caused widespread horror and outrage. She explained that her actions were driven by “bitterness and frustration” after being rejected by the child’s father, who she claimed had infected her with HIV.
Justice served: Donieka Segree Charged with Boyfriend’s Murder in Westmoreland

Police charged a 27-year-old Westmoreland woman after she reportedly confessed to killing her 50-year-old boyfriend.
Law enforcement identified the deceased as Vernon McIntosh of Savanna-la-mar in Westmoreland.
Justice served.Charged with murder is Donieka Segree of Morass, Hertford District.
The Savanna-la-mar Police stated that at about 11:40 pm on December 18, McIntosh visited Segree’s home. They had been in a relationship that broke up during a conversation earlier that day.
The couple reportedly argued, and McIntosh became irate and hit Segree in the face.
Segree allegedly took up a knife and used it to inflict stab wounds on McIntosh.
Residents rushed McIntosh to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
On Friday, December 20, the accused reportedly provided a caution statement to the police, confessing to the murder. The police later arrested and charged her.
Law enforcement has yet to schedule a court appearance date for McIntosh.
