Embezzlement. Police charged three women with embezzlement after they uncovered a scheme in which nearly $1.8 million was allegedly siphoned from a food store in St. Andrew through fake refunds.
The women charged are:
– Joedi Kay Harrison, 35, from Dunoon Road, Kingston 2
– Tanese Wade, 39, from Mount Friendship, St. Andrew
– Nickeisha Evans, 46, from Darley Crescent, St. Andrew
Investigators said the alleged fraud occurred between October 2025 and April 2026 at a food store on Constant Spring Road.
The store owner noticed discrepancies in cash records and started an internal investigation.
During the investigation, the store owner discovered that Harrison, a cashier supervisor, allegedly conspired with Wade and Evans to embezzle $1,766,765.78 from the business. They allegedly processed refunds for customer purchases despite the fact that no refund requests had been made.
According to police, after processing the refunds, the women removed the cash from the registers and kept it for themselves.
Subsequently, the store reported the matter to the police, who launched an investigations.
Then, the police placed all three women into custody and formally charged them with Embezzlement. Embezzlement is a felony. Their court appearance dates are pending.
Police charged a Ewarton man with the fatally stabing of his nephew
On Friday, June 19, police in St Catherine charged a man for fatally stabbing his nephew during an argument over the volume of a television while watching a televised World Cup football match. The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, June 17.
Investigators have identified the accused as twenty-five-year-old Chad Campbell, a laborer from Ewarton, St Catherine.
The deceased, Lamar Mullings was only 23-year-old. He was also a resident of Ewarton.
So far, the police have yet to decide on a court appearance for Campbell.
As we have reported previously, the tragic incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on June 17, at Campbell’s home in Ewarton.
A dispute developed between Campbell and Mullings after Mullings asked Campbell to turn the television volume down.
Campbell reportedly refused Mullings’ request, and a physical altercation ensued.
During the tussle, Campbell allegedly used a knife to inflict a wound to Mullings’ chest.
Hospital officials later pronounced Mullings dead upon arrival. And another young life cut short as a result of domestic violence.
