Police Investigate Gun Violence Incidents in Kingston. Kingston East Police responded to a murder scene along Greenvale Road in the Bull Bay community on Monday. Reportedly, persons unknown shot and killed a sound system operator.

Law enforcement identified the deceased as Richard Brooks, otherwise called ET, 57, a sound system operator of Bull Bay, St Andrew.

Reportedly, at about 12:25 p.m. Brooks was along the roadway near the Star of the East Chill Spot when armed men attacked and shot him..

Upon arrival at the scene, police officers found Brooks bleeding from gunshot wounds.

They transported the wounded man to the Kingston Public Hospital, where the medical staff pronounced him dead.

The police have yet to prove a motive for the murder. The investigation continues.

Detectives from the Elliston Road Police Department are investigating the murder.

Investigators appealed to anyone with information about the shooting to contact the nearest police station.

The Kingston Western Police have formally charged a suspect, 17, in connection with the North Street double murder on October 22.

Police charged a seventeen-year-old with double murder

Investigators indicted the unnamed teen on Monday, November 11, 2024, after detectives questioned him in the presence of his attorney.

He faces two counts each of murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Law enforcement identified the deceased as Genireo Mitchell, o/c ‘Dantae,’ 23, a clerk, and twenty-one-year-old Donald Walters Jr.

According to the police, at about 7:50 a.m., Walters and Mitchell were standing on North Street near Orange Street on the day of the incident.

Suddenly, two armed men, including the accused, approached them and opened gunfire, hitting the teen and the other man.

The police responded and transported the injured men to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced them dead on arrival.

After an investigation and intelligence gathering, the police arrested the teen and formally charged him on November 11. His court appearance date is pending.
