East Kingston Police name suspects in Rockfort cabbie shooting.

Break-in: Cops probe Robbery of Shotgun and $4.5 Million. Detectives from the St. Andrew North Division in Jamaica have launched an investigation into a break-in and robbery of $4.5 million. The incident occurred Sunday night, July 13, at a Fesco gas station and Western Union outlet in Rock Hall, St. Andrew.

EAST KINGSTON POLICE: Police launched a search for five men who they believed were involved in the altercation that claimed the life of one man and injured a cab driver in Rockfort.

The men being sought are identified as:

  1. ‘Max’
  2. ‘Geo Dawg’
  3. ‘Benjy’
  4. Nikon Linton,  otherwise called ‘Stooky’
  5. Okero Lafesta

The East Kingston Police said the men are wanted in connection with the shooting of a taxi driver.

Reportedly, the Cabbie was shot after he allegedly stabbed Yusuf Linton, o/c ‘Isis’ 23, during an altercation in the tenement yard. Linton later died in hospital.

According to reports, at around 11:30 pm, the Cabbie was embroiled in a verbal altercation with another man.

Cabbie became loud and boisterous. The tone of his voice reportedly annoyed other people in the yard.

Reportedly, the annoyed residents attempted to forcefully remove the taxi driver from the premises.

They went to his room, removed appliances, utensils, and other personal items, and threw them outside.

The Cabbie, who was next door and heard the noise, went to his room to investigate. He reportedly saw a man with a firearm in his hand standing watch as his belongings were thrown out.

The East Kingston police said the taxi driver reached for a knife from the kitchen sink to defend himself.

Reportedly, Linton allegedly lunged at the Cabbie. In his defense, he used the knife to inflict a wound on Linton, who allegedly advanced towards him.

The Cabbie was reportedly shot in the left side of his head. He ran from the house and escaped.

The men reportedly chased him, but he ran to the Rockfort Police Station, where officers assisted him to the hospital.

Charges Filed Against Farm Store Operator After Shooting Incident

EAST KINGSTON POLICE: Police charged a farm store operator with wounding and firearm-related charges. The suspect allegedly opened gunfire at a man and two teenage boys on Monday September 18, 2024.

Arrested suspect is handcuffed behind his back.

East Kingston Police identified the suspect as David Taylor, o/c Pelpa,’ 33, a farm store operator of Rock Jam Road, Kingston 2.

Detectives charged Taylor with wounding with intent, shooting with intent, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The police said that on Monday, September 18, two boys, ages 15 and 16, and a man were walking along the roadway in the Community.

Reportedly, Taylor alighted from a Honda Fit motorcar and opened gunfire at the complainants, hitting the man and one of the teenagers.

The 16-year-old boy escaped unhurt.

Residents rushed the victims to the hospital, where the authorities admitted them for treatment.

Taylor’s court appearance date is pending.
