Kingston Eastern police reported that a lone assailants shot seven people, three fatally, at a party Thursday night, August 3, 2023, on Rusden Road, Rockfort, Kingston.

The police identified two of the three deceased as Warren Benjamin, age 22, a fisherman, late of Adestra Road, Kingston 2, Raheem Walters, age 19, construction worker, late of Belmont Road, Kingston, and an unidentified man appears to be in his twenties.
The police say the unidentified man is about 5 feet 10 inches tall with an owl tattooed on his throat and a lion on his left forearm.
The Elletson Road police say at about 11:0 pm on August 3, 2023; the seven victims were among the people attending a party when a man stepped outside the bar and opened gunfire at the group.
Seven people, including two women, were seen with gunshot wounds when all was said and done.
Concerned citizens summoned the police. The police, aided by residents, transported the wounded to the hospital. The authorities pronounced three people dead and admitted four for treatment.
Detectives assigned to the Major Investigations Division are probing the shooting.
Prime Minister Holness promised local Government elections by February 2024.
Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, says the Government intends to fulfill the constitutional requirements and hold the local government elections by February 2024.

The elections last held in November 2016 are slated to be held by February 28, 2024.
Mr. Holness pointed out that if something happens–such as another pandemic or a natural disaster, he would consider postponement again.
St Elizabeth man charged for fatal shooting during a 2022 bar fight.
The St Elizabeth police reported that they arrested and charged a male suspect for the 2022 murder of Teville Green, o/c’ Frass,’ age 22, in Jointwood district, St Elizabeth.

The police identified the suspect as Seymour Mullings, age 36, a Jointwood, St Elizabeth resident.
According to the Black River police, on September 24, 2022, Green and Mullings were at a bar in their community when the men locked horns in a dispute.
During the melee, Mullings allegedly brandished a firearm and opened fire, hitting Green and escaping into the community.
Concerned citizens alerted the police. The police transported Green to the hospital, where he died.
On Monday, July 31, 2023, the police arrested Mullings in Kingston during an operation almost one year after he fled his community.
The police said Mullings gave a caution statement to the police. They later charged him with murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
The suspect court appearance date is pending.
