Police have detained and charged a taxi operator who was caught on a viral video assaulting another driver after an accident. Peter Bramwell, 37, from Kingston, faces charges of malicious destruction of property, assault causing bodily harm, and disorderly conduct.
The incident occurred after Bramwell’s Probox collided with a Mitsubishi Pajero around 6 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, on Half-Way Tree Road in St Andrew.
The video shows the irate suspect using a tool to shatter the other driver’s car window before retrieving what appeared to be a sharp object from his vehicle to try to wound the man.
Assistant Commissioner Gary McKenzie, head of the police traffic division, advises the public to follow due process following a traffic incident.
Further investigation by the police revealed that Bramwell had four traffic warrants and 61 unpaid tickets.
The date for his court appearance is yet to be determined.
Seven Men Wanted by Kingston East Police.
The Kingston East Police have identified seven individuals who are currently wanted for questioning.
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Detectives assigned to the Kingston East Division have listed the names and pictures of seven men wanted for several crimes committed in the division.
They are:

- Kevin Cole, otherwise called ‘Marshall,’ ‘Kedman,’ ‘Kevman’ of St Georges Road and Glasspole Avenue, Rockfort, Kingston 2. He is wanted for two counts of murder.
- Kiman Foreman, otherwise called ‘Kimmy’ and ‘Nicely.’ He is wanted for three counts of murder, assault at common law, and illegal possession of ammunition.
- Tajay Jackson, otherwise called ‘Chinna Man.’ He is wanted for malicious destruction of property and possession of a prohibited weapon. Jackson is said to frequent Wild Street, Kingston 16.
- Mark Beckford is wanted for murder and is said to frequent Corner One Lane, Rockfort, Kingston.
- Antwain McPherson is wanted for wounding with intent. He is said to frequent St Benedict Heights, Harbour View, Kingston 17.
- Steven Myers is otherwise called an ‘Evil boss. ‘He is wanted for murder and shooting with intent. Myers is said to frequent Grandridge Park, Nannyville, Kingston 3, Little Telephone Street, and Maiden Street, Kingston 16.
- Richard Higgins, otherwise called ‘Bob’ and ‘Gringo’. He is wanted for shooting with intent. Richard is said to frequent Wellington Street in Kingston 16.
The men were strongly urged by the police to surrender themselves to the Elletson Police without delay. It was also emphasized that harboring a fugitive is a serious criminal offense.
Additionally, citizens are being encouraged by the police to provide any information that could assist in their investigations. This can be done by contacting the Elleston Road CIB Police at 876-928-4200, Crime Stop at 311, the NIB Tip line at 811, the police 119 numbers, or the nearest police station.
Investigation Underway After Vendor Murdered on Bond Street, Kingston.
The authorities in Central Kingston have launched an investigation into the tragic shooting of a male vendor on Bond Street in Kingston on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Leroy O’Sullivan, a well-known vendor from Tulip Lane, Kingston 14.

According to reports from the police, at approximately 6 a.m., the man was operating his cart along the roadside when a vehicle arrived, from which several armed men disembarked.
Following this, the assailants approached O’Sullivan and indiscriminately shot him in his upper body before swiftly fleeing in their waiting vehicle.
Upon receiving the call, the police swiftly arrived at the scene and promptly transferred O’Sullivan to the hospital. Tragically, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
As of now, the police are yet to determine a motive for the attack, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Motorist Injured in Fiery Protest Over Water in Retreat, Westmoreland.
A motorist was injured during a fiery protest related to water issues in Retreat, Westmoreland.
Injuries were sustained by a motorist whose car was damaged in a collision with a tree felled by disgruntled residents of the Retreat community in Westmoreland in the early hours of Monday, April 29, 2024. The protest, which was a response to a lack of running water, also resulted in injuries to a motorcyclist and their passenger due to debris. Acting Commander for Zone Four of the Westmoreland Police Division, Inspector Coya Williams, reported that after 3 a.m., residents obstructed the main road between New Hope and Negril with trees, burning tires, and other debris to demand water.

Westmoreland is experiencing a drought that is affecting several parishes.
Williams noted that a driver, unaware of the protest, was injured after colliding with a tree laid across the road by protesters.
The injured motorist received medical attention at the Savanna-la-mar Public General Hospital.
The Water Commission has committed to supplying water to the community within the day.
