Heartbreaking news has surfaced reporting the loss of eight-year-old Ramiel Richardson in a devastating fire at his home in Top Lincoln, Grange Hill, Westmoreland, on Friday, April 26, 2024.
According to a report from the Morgan’s Bridge police, the fire broke out when little Ramiel was alone in the house. His mother, who was reportedly outside at the time, raised the alarm and called for the fire department’s assistance.
Despite the efforts of the fire department, it was tragically too late. After the operation to cool down the area, the lifeless body of young Ramiel was discovered on the ground. He was rushed to the hospital, where his tragic passing was confirmed.
In the midst of this heartbreaking incident, the police have taken Ramiel’s mother into custody for further investigation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this incredibly difficult time.

Businessman Accused of Allegedly Sexually Assaulting His Girlfriend.
According to a news report in The Gleaner, detectives from the Portmore PD have charged a St Catherine businessman after he allegedly confined his girlfriend in his bedroom and subjected her to physical and sexual assault.
The authorities identified the suspect as Davian Smythe, 27, of Myrtle Avenue, Phoenix Park Village, Portmore. The police charged Smythe with rape, forcible abduction, unlawful detention, grievous sexual assault, simple larceny, common assault, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

According to reports from the Portmore police, in October 2023, Symthe took the complainant from her mother’s home to Myrtle Avenue, where he resides.
Allegations state that Symthe forcibly confined the complainant in his bedroom, where he physically and sexually assaulted her.
In April 2024, Smythe and the complainant engaged in an argument at his residence, and he repeated his actions by assaulting her.
Furthermore, the police reported that Smythe confiscated the complainant’s cell phone and attempted to strangle her, resulting in swelling and bruises to her neck.
The complainant managed to escape and reported the incident to the police.
As a result, Smythe was subsequently arrested and charged. His court appearance date is pending.
A 20-year-old individual has been charged with the murder of a businessman.
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Police have indicted a suspect believed to be one of two individuals involved in the fatal shooting of businessman Glen Simpson, known as ‘Sabby,’ at his shop on Market Street, Kingston, on Friday, January 26, 2024.
The suspect is Steven Williams, also known as ‘African,’ a 20-year-old laborer from Nelson Street, Kingston.
Williams faces charges of homicide, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
Police reports state that around 9:03 a.m., Simpson was at his shop when Williams and another individual entered and began shooting, striking him.
Responding officers transported Simpson to the hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. Unfortunately, Simpson passed away from his injuries the next day, according to the police.
Williams was arrested and charged and is awaiting a court date.
American Man Charged for Allegedly Carrying Ammunition in Luggage.
A 41-year-old American citizen, identified as Shane Samuels, was arrested and charged by the police at the Norman Manley International Airport.
The arrest took place on Saturday night, April 27, 2024, after he was allegedly found with ammunition in his luggage. Samuels, a welder from Westerlage Street, Los Angeles, USA, is facing charges for unauthorized possession of ammunition.
He arrived on the island on a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles at approximately 9:40 p.m. The security checkpoint revealed a magazine in his suitcase during the X-ray screening, which, upon further inspection, contained 15 rounds of 9mm cartridges.
Pending his court appearance date, Samuels is currently in custody following the police’s intervention.
Three Individuals Arrested and a Firearm Seized in Waterhouse Operation.
ST ANDREW, Jamaica—Law enforcement officers have made a significant arrest in connection with the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an operation on Henley Road, Waterhouse in St Andrew, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
The suspects, including a man and a woman believed to be linked to a prior shooting incident, are currently in police custody as investigations continue. Their identities have been withheld pending formal charges.
A search operation carried out by the authorities in the community led to the discovery of a 9mm pistol along with six rounds of ammunition at approximately 3:30 p.m., which resulted in the swift apprehension of the three individuals.
No charges have been filed, but the authorities are actively pursuing the case.
