Police have identified the alleged robbers killed in St. Thomas.

Police reported that four years without recording a single murder in August Town, St. Andrew, Jamaica, violence has erupted again with the killings of two brothers just one week apart. Police have identified Oshane Morris, also known as Chucky, as the individual who allegedly ordered these attacks. Also, On Sunday, the police shot and killed two men during an alleged confrontation in Lluidas Vale, St. Catherine. The incident occurred when officers intercepted a vehicle believed to be carrying a person of interest in last year’s brutal quintuple murder in the Commodore district.

ST. THOMAS, Jamaica: Law enforcement authorities in St. Thomas have confirmed the identities of the three suspects who were killed in a confrontation with the police in Poor Man’s Corner, St Thomas, on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

The individuals were fatally shot by the police after allegedly attempting to burglarize a liquor store.

The deceased have been identified as Jermaine Chamberlain, aged 35, from Tulip Lane; Joheim McDonald, also known as ‘Jiggs’ and ‘Bebe,’ aged 22, a warehouse assistant from Milk Lane; and Damion Fairweather, from Pink Lane. All three men resided in Kingston 14.

According to reports, the complainant arrived at his business establishment and noticed a suspicious vehicle. Upon investigating, the complainant allegedly came under gunfire. It is said that the complainant returned fire, and the men fled in the suspicious vehicle.

In response, the police initiated a search for the vehicle. Upon entering the Grants Pen community, they encountered a group of men and two vehicles parked along the roadway. The men opened fire at the police, who returned fire, leading to a gun battle.

After the shooting, the police found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. The individuals were rushed to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The authorities reportedly recovered a 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing five live rounds at the scene.

The St Andrew North Police have apprehended and formally charged a suspect for violations of the Firearms Act. The suspect is accused of discharging a firearm at a man and his family on August 10, 2024.

The incident took place along George Mason Drive in Lawrence Tavern, St Andrew.

Law enforcement officials have named the apprehended individual as Keymo Dacres, aged 29, an entertainer residing on George Mason Drive in Lawrence Tavern, St. Andrew.

Dacres has been charged by the police with shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

According to the Lawrence Tavern Police, at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the day of the incident, a man and his family were walking along George Mason Drive when Dacres accosted them. After a brief exchange, Dacres discharged his firearm at them. Fortunately, the man and his family managed to escape unharmed.

The matter was reported to the authorities by the complainant, leading to an investigation by the police. Dacres was arrested on August 12, 2024.

After a question-and-answer session in the presence of his legal counsel on August 15, 2024, Dacres was formally charged by the police.

His court date is yet to be scheduled.

Robbery of Over $2 Million at Casino in St. Catherine, Jamaica

Authorities from the St Catherine North police division are now investigating a significant robbery that took place at a casino on Young Street in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Friday, August 16, 2024.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. when a lone individual entered the casino, reportedly armed with a gun. The assailant proceeded to threaten the victim and forcibly took her into an office, where he proceeded to steal $2,060,000 and a smartphone before fleeing the scene on foot.

After the incident, the victim promptly reported the matter to the Spanish Town Police Station, and an active investigation is underway.

Police are searching for three men after they abandoned ammunition in St Catherine North. The individuals reportedly left 13 rounds of ammunition on St John’s Road early Saturday morning, August 17, 2024.

Police reports stated that around 12:20 a.m., officers patrolling near Job Lane on St John’s Road observed three men quickly leaving the area.

The police attempted to catch the individuals, but it was too late. The men escaped. But they did leave behind a bag with 13 cartridges typically used in M16 rifles.
