Gregory Park Shooting: Two Dead, One Injured in Tragic Incident.

Cops Charged Mandela Highway Robber and Murder Suspect. On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, cops in St. Catherine, Jamaica, charged a suspect with the alleged robbery and fatal shooting that occurred along the St. Catherine section of the Mandela Highway on June 11. Authorities identified the suspect as Nicholas Bhalai, o/c, 'Coolie Bap,' 24, a laborer of Ferry, district, in St Catherine, Jamaica.

A shooting on Sunday afternoon, August 18, 2024, in Gregory Park, St Catherine, has left two men dead and another injured.

The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. along the Gregory Park main road.

The police identified the deceased as Kemar Williams, o/c ‘Learn’ or ‘Ghetto Bear,’ 29, a tire repairman from Main Street, Gregory Park, and Odaine Beal.

The injured person is a taxi driver and bar operator.

According to reports, the men were seated at a bar drinking. A grey motorcar pulled up. Two armed men exited the vehicle and opened fire on the men.

Williams was shot in the upper body, while Beal sustained gunshot wounds to his hip, thigh, and the back of his head. 

The police responded and rushed the victims to the Spanish Town Hospital. The authorities pronounced Williams and Beal dead on arrival. They admitted the other man in stable condition.

The police recovered nineteen 9mm spent casings and bullet fragments at the scene.

The police have yet to prove a motive for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

TRELAWNY, Jamaica: Police charged a Trelawny man with murder after an altercation on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, with a man who reportedly owed him money.

The accused is Onique Small, otherwise called ‘Ojay,’ 24, a farmer of Hague Settlement, Falmouth, Trelawny.

The police identified the victim as Conroy Bramwell, also known as ‘Smokey,’ 35, of Spring Hill, Stewart Castle, Duncans, Trelawny.

The Falmouth police say at about 11:15 p.m., Bramwell was walking in the town. He approached a man who owed him money, and a dispute broke out.

The verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation. During the melee, Small allegedly used a pair of scissors and stabbed Bramwell.

The police responded and assisted Bramwell to the hospital, where the authorities admitted him.

The police launched an investigation, and Small surrendered on Thursday, Aug 15, 2024.

Bramwell succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, Aug 17, 2024. The police formally charged Small later that day a question-and-answer session.

Small’s court date is pending.

ST. JAMES, Jamaica: A hotel executive was questioned by law enforcement investigators after a firearm discharge resulted in the accidental death of a man during a bird shooting exercise in Barrett Hall, St James, on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

The deceased has been identified as Anthonio Davis, 38, a wood carver from Carey Park, Trelawny.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the fatal incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. The executive’s firearm unintentionally went off as he aimed to fire at a bird.

The fatal bullet struck Davis in the shoulder, ultimately resulting in his death at the hospital.

This tragic and regrettable incident took place as the 2024 bird shooting season commenced in Jamaica.

It has been reported that Davis was employed to help bird shooters in locating their prey.

Superintendent Eron Samuels, the Commander for the St James police, has confirmed the incident, and indicated that further details will be provided by the police force’s communication unit at a later time.

MANCHESTER, Jamaica: Police charged a teenager with the May 1, 2024, murder of a bartender in New Green, Manchester.

Charged is Javannie Muir, 19, a resident of Kendal district in the parish.

Police stated that, at about 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug 14, 2024, a police team initiated a targeted operation in Kendal in search of Muir.

He was apprehended and later charged.

Allegations disclosed by the police stated that on May 1, 2024, Kereen Airy, a bartender, was shot dead at a bar in New Green Square.

Police said two armed men entered the bar. One of the armed attackers shot Airy in the face. The men then stole money and opened fire on another bartender before fleeing the scene.

Muir’s court date is pending.
