Fatal Confrontation between Police and Suspect in May Pen.

Police reported that four years without recording a single murder in August Town, St. Andrew, Jamaica, violence has erupted again with the killings of two brothers just one week apart. Police have identified Oshane Morris, also known as Chucky, as the individual who allegedly ordered these attacks. Also, On Sunday, the police shot and killed two men during an alleged confrontation in Lluidas Vale, St. Catherine. The incident occurred when officers intercepted a vehicle believed to be carrying a person of interest in last year’s brutal quintuple murder in the Commodore district.

As reported by the police, a team was on patrol on Nelson Street in May Pen when they came under attack.

In response, the officers engaged in a prolonged exchange of gunfire lasting over 20 minutes.

Following the cessation of the shooting, the officers discovered a man with gunshot wounds.

Promptly, the police transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident caused unrest and panic in nearby schools, prompting parents to rush to collect their children.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados–A 23-year-old Jamaican national is one of three suspects who were brought before the court in Barbados on Monday, June 24, 2024, charged with the murder of 32-year-old Chad Roett earlier this month.

The police have accused Junior Frances Campbell, along with Barbadians Najae Zion DeChristopher Marshall, 20, and 24-year-old Zaquan Ryan O’Neal Walcott, of the crime following the discovery of Roett’s body with gunshot wounds on the night of June 5, 2023.

Authorities stated that the accused men allegedly fatally shot Roett at a shop and forcibly took a gold chain from his neck.

The three men appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee at the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court and were detained pending their next appearance on July 22.

The police issued a statement expressing appreciation to the media and the public for their assistance and cooperation in this matter.

Two brothers from Spring Mount in St James have been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

The charges stem from an incident in the Sunderland district, where the brothers, along with three other men, confronted a man at a local shop. During the altercation, one of the brothers allegedly opened fire at the man, who was later treated for a gunshot wound.

Following the incident, the complainant filed a report with the police, leading to the brothers being listed as wanted.

They subsequently turned themselves in to the police in the company of their attorney and were indicted on Friday, June 22, 2024. Their court appearance date is pending.

Reports indicate that a police team was conducting a Vehicular Check Point (VCP) on Sunday, June 23, 2024, when the actions of a group of men raised their suspicion.

The group of men was apprehended and a weapon was discovered in the possession of one of them.

The firearm was identified as a Palmetto Dada 9mm pistol, equipped with a magazine containing fifteen 9mm rounds.

The police have arrested the suspect and have withheld his identity pending further investigation and formal charges.
