Kelvin Pyne, one of Montego Bay’s favorite fruit vendors is dead. According to police, Kelvin Pyne, 42, was likely shot and killed by hoodlums in Montego Bay, St James on Saturday night.
He was a resident of Orange in St James.
The police reported that Pyne’s body was discovered around 11:30 p.m. after officers responded to Miriam Way in Montego Bay.
They found him lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders rushed him to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
Residents describe Kelvin as a Good Samaritan. On April 19, 2022, he and two other men bravely risked their lives to rescue people swept away by floodwaters.
Unfortunately, despite their efforts, a woman named Beryl Walters and her grandchild, Jennel, were carried away by the raging currents. While Jennel’s body was later recovered, Beryl Walters has never been found.
The St. James police are currently investigating Kelvin’s tragic death.
83-y-o dies in Manchester freak accident, second in days
MANCHESTER, Jamaica—Tragedy has struck in Manchester again. The police reported that an 83-year-old man had died from injuries sustained after falling from a water tank platform. This unfortunate incident occurred at a house on Woodlawn Road in George’s Valley on Sunday.
Law enforcement officials have identified the deceased as Michael Williams, also known as “Mike,” a resident of the Comfort district community.
According to the police, around 11:00 a.m., Williams visited a relative’s home to perform maintenance. While climbing onto the platform where two water tanks are located, he reportedly missed his step and fell onto a rock. As a result, he sustained a gashing wound to his forehead.
Concerned residents rushed “Mike” to the hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead on arival.
Mike’s demise is the second reported death by misadventure in Manchester in recent days. On Thursday, 60-year-old Robert Dawes passed away after getting struck by several lengths of steel in Balvenie Heights, Mandeville.
