KINGSTON, Jamaica—Confirming their action, the police announced that they have pressed charges against a suspect in connection with the triple homicide on May 13, 2024, along Windward Road in Kingston. The suspect, identified as Richard Jonas, also known as ‘Monkey Man’ and ‘Jellana,’ is an 18-year-old carpenter residing in Moonlight Drive, Queensborough, Kingston 19.

The authorities revealed that Jonas was allegedly part of a group of men who arrived in a vehicle and entered a yard along Winward Road around 3:10 p.m. on the tragic day, where they opened fire, resulting in the deaths of Sabian Clarke, Troy Dennis, and Marquice Morgan. The police’s swift response led to the men being taken to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
Upon investigations, detectives charged Jonas with three counts of murder, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and three counts of conspiracy to commit murder. He is set to appear in court on Friday, June 28, 2024.

A fatal shooting occurred in the violence-prone Farm community in Clarendon on Saturday, June 22, 2024, resulting in the loss of one life and leaving another individual injured.

The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Marlon McCarty of Bushy Park in Clarendon.
Reportedly, at approximately 5 p.m. on the aforementioned Saturday, McCarty and the injured individual were socializing at a friend’s residence on White Avenue in the Farm community when armed individuals entered the premises and initiated gunfire.
Following the cessation of the shooting, both McCarty and the other individual were found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Members of the community stepped in to assist the injured individuals to the hospital, where unfortunately McCarty was pronounced deceased, while the other victim was admitted for medical treatment.
As of now, the police have not determined a motive for the shooting, and the investigation is still ongoing.

The incident took place on Saturday night, June 22, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m. According to reports, the victim was walking along the main road near a restaurant when a dark-colored Honda pulled up, and the occupants opened fire before speeding away.
The victim, who is from a nearby community, sustained serious upper body injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries after being admitted.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear as investigations continue.

MANCHESTER, Jamaica—A man from St Elizabeth was arrested by the police on Sunday, June 23, 2024, for possessing a prohibited weapon at a wake in Comfort Hall, Manchester.

The police report that around 2:14 a.m., the individual, a 29-year-old construction worker from the Castleton district in Balaclava, St Elizabeth, was attending a wake in Comfort Hall.
He began to behave suspiciously upon noticing the police, who then approached and searched him. They reportedly discovered a Glock pistol with a magazine loaded with 9mm rounds in his waistband.
The suspect has been detained, and his identity is being withheld as the investigation continues and until an identification parade is conducted.
