Thugs gunned down ‘Baba Root’ at his home in Darliston, Westmoreland.

After a short respite from the spate of robberies and murders, tragedy returned to Westmoreland early Sunday morning, December 10, 2023. This time, the victim was a businessman and brewer of the popular energy drink ‘Baba Roots,’ who succumbed to injuries he received from the bullets of four thugs at his home.

The authorities identified the dead man as William Webb, otherwise known as ‘Baba Roots,’ of Darliston.

According to the Westmoreland police, at about 3:45 a.m. on that fateful Sunday morning, four heartless thugs with death on their minds reportedly breached Webb’s house through a window after binding an older man with duct tape. They gunned him down in a hail of bullets after a brief exchange of words.

Officials at the Savanna-La-Mar hospital pronounced him dead on arrival.

The police said there were signs that the criminals ransacked Webb’s bedroom.

The police did not establish a motive for the attack.

Man gunned down in Banbury district, St Catherine.

Detectives at the Linstead Police Station in St. Catherine are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred on Friday in the Banbury district.

The victim has been identified as Clive Whyte, a 52-year-old resident of Banbury, St. Catherine.

According to reports, at approximately 4:30 a.m., local residents heard a series of loud explosions. Shortly thereafter, Whyte’s lifeless body was discovered by the roadside.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officials determined that Whyte had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Tragically, despite efforts to save him, Whyte succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Linstead Hospital.

At this time, authorities have yet to establish a motive for the senseless murder of Clive Whyte. The investigation into this heartbreaking incident remains ongoing.

Gunmen heist over $100,000 from KFC in downtown Kingston.

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A KFC restaurant located at 85 King Street in downtown Kingston fell victim to a brazen robbery on Sunday morning. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but the perpetrators managed to make off with over $100,000.

According to reports received, at approximately 11:06 a.m., four masked individuals barged into the establishment, two of them brandishing handguns. They swiftly proceeded to rob employees of their mobile phones and tablets while also seizing an amount exceeding $100,000 from the vault.

The culprits subsequently fled the scene on foot, heading towards the South Parade area. While unverified social media accounts claim that the robbers also targeted customers, stealing both cash and phones, the police have yet to confirm these allegations.

It is worth noting that this particular KFC branch has the distinction of being one of two situated on King Street, right in the heart of downtown Kingston. The incident serves as a reminder for heightened security measures in public spaces.
