Police charged an 18-year-old after attempted robbery at Clarendon bar.

May Pen, PD, reported that they charged a teen concerning an armed robbery at a bar during which a woman got shot in the head on Jul 11, 2023.t in the head.

Detectives charged Hurran ‘TJ’ Smith, age 18, a laborer of Mason River, Clarendon, with attempted murder, robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.

Smith had turned himself in on Wednesday, Jul 12, 2023. The police charged him after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney. 

According to the police report, at about 10:15 pm, on Jul 11, 2023, Smith and four other armed men entered the bar and began demanding money from patrons. And when the patrons denied the gunmen’s requests, one held a gun to a woman’s head and shot her.

Smith and the other men then escaped.

Residents alerted the police. The police transported the injured woman to the hospital, where the authorities admitted her.

Smith’s court appearance date is pending.

Thugs shot and killed a man at a bar in Top Hill, St Elizabeth, as businesses on the South Coast come under siege.

The St Elizabeth police reported that Armed thugs shot and killed a patron at a bar in Top Hill St Elizabeth Saturday morning, July 22, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Lloyd ‘Rice Man’ Cole, age 52, a late resident of Top Hill St Elizabeth. 

According to the police, at about 1:45 am on July 22, 2023, Cole was sitting on a stool outside the bar when armed thugs invaded the watering hole. The gunmen opened fire on Cole. Then, they proceeded inside the bar and robbed several patrons. The men later used an object to open a poker box and escaped with an undetermined sum of money.

The police arrived later and transported Cole to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.

The owner of the bar is distraught at the gunmen for killing Cole.

“He is one of the humblest customers ever, him no put up with certain things, he is a man no uphold with certain things, so dem just kill him just like that… more people ah go dead too,” the sad bar owner said.

The bar owner said Law enforcement officers have abandoned business owners in the area, and they cannot defend themselves because of the inability to obtain gun licenses. 

According to reporting, there have been an alarming number of robberies along the South coast of the parish. 

Normally quiet and low-crime areas like Southfield, Bull Savannah, Malvern, and others are sitting ducks for criminals. The citizens are crying for help.

St Andrew man charged with brother’s murder.

The police charged a man with murder after allegedly stabbing and killing his brother during an argument at their home in St Andrew on July 16, 2023.

Dead is Shawn Palmer, age 33

The police identified the accused as Jonathan Davis, age 25, of Nicholson Square, Delacree Housing Scheme, St Andrew.

According to the police, at about 1:20 pm, on July 16, 2023, Davis and Palmer were at home when they began arguing. The two brothers subsequently locked horns, and Davis reportedly used a knife and stabbed Palmer in the upper body.

Palmer ran from the house and collapsed.

A concerned citizen transported Palmer to the hospital, where he died while getting treatment.

A family member made a report to the police. The police arrested Davis. The police charged him after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court appearance date is pending.

Call center worker stabbed to death by alleged gangsters in St Ann.

ST ANN, Jamaica – On Friday, July 20, 2023, the St Ann police reported the fatal stabbing of a man by an alleged gangster in the parish. 

The police identified the deceased as Andre Mc Donald, age 21, a call center representative, late of Trysee District, Browns Town, St Ann.

According to the police, the thug stabbed McDonald at about 12:15 am on July 20, 2023.

Detectives theorize that the incident was the act of a “Strap Dem Gang” member.

But whether McDonald was associated with the “Strap Dem Gang” or another gang in the parish is unclear.

McDonald’s murder is the latest in several killings linked to gang violence in St Ann.
