Police Raids: Two Guns Seized and Several Suspects Arrested. On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, law enforcement seized two illegal firearms. They detained multiple suspects during a series of targeted police raids. The security forces conducted the raids at several locations in the St. Andrew North Division.

Police Operation Lead to Arrest of Gun Suspect and Fugitive. Police charged a St. James man with gun-related charges after they conducted a targeted operation at his Anchovy home in December 2024.

The authorities identified the accused as Nicholas Palmer, also known as ‘Budman.’ He is 26 years old and works as a laborer from Marl Road in Anchovy in St. James.

Investigators charged Palmer with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and dealing in banned weapons.

According to the Montego Bay police, at about 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, a team of officers targeted and searched the home of Palmer.

During the police operation, officers found Palmer hiding under the house with a one-strapped bag across his chest.

The officers apprehended Palmer and seized the bag they found in his possession.

But, in a dramatic turn of events, Palmer managed to escape.

Law enforcement later searched the bag and found two loaded Glock pistols.

The police reported that one of the pistols had a magazine with 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The other pistol’s magazine contained 28 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Palmer eluded the police until February 26, when they recaptured him during a police operation in Catherine Hall, St. James.

Detectives placed Palmer into custody and charged him a day later.

His court appearance date is pending.

On Friday, February 28, 2025, the St. Catherine Parish Court heard evidence about an American. He was before the court for overstaying his time in Jamaica. Additionally, he was wanted in the United States on charges of shooting.

Saeed Singh, 28, appeared in court on Friday. The prosecution revealed a warrant for his arrest. A representative from the United States Embassy present at the hearing confirmed the existence of this warrant.

Parish Court Judge Yvette Wentworth-Miller has remanded Singh until March 4. This is to ensure the presence of a representative from the Passport, Immigration, and Citizenship Agency.

On Monday, February 24, police operatives from the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) targeted Singh during an operation on Old Harbor Road in St. Catherine.

During the police operation, officers observed Singh washing motor vehicles.

Law enforcement accosted him. After making checks, the officers discovered that Singh had been in Jamaica for more than 12 months. He exceeded the time allowed in the country.

The authorities later charged him for overstaying his time.
