FLA labelled 19,449 firearms as ‘guns at risk’; permits have not been renewed.

According to the FLA, the record shows that 19,449 firearms permits were not updated between April 2019 and November 11, 2022. The FLA also reported that only about 299 guns have been reported lost or stolen over the last 5 years. The FLA classify these weapons as 'Guns at Risk.'

The JCF said citizens committed Cybercrimes daily without knowing.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force said Jamaicans committed cybercrimes breaches daily without knowing. Hence, detective Inspector Pilmar Powell said it is essential that citizens familiarise themselves with the law. The law was passed in 2015. Because ignorance of the law can not be used as an excuse.

The US admits more needs to be done to tackle gang violence and gun trafficking

Jamaica needs to implement more robust measures to tackle gang violence and the trafficking of illicit firearms to the Island. This was the message the Deputy assistant secretary for Caribbean affairs and Haiti, Barbara Feinstein, admitted to journalists on Tuesday, Nov 15, 2022, at the US Embassy in St Andrew. She implied that the US is dissatisfied with the return on its investment.

A community is distraught after 4-year-old accused man of child molestation

A 26-year-old Westmorelander whose name the police withheld is in police custody after a 4-year-old baby girl accused him of sexually abusing her. The accusation left the entire community in wonderment. Nobody believes the child. Everybody thinks the accused is incapable of committing the despicable act. The accused, who lives across the street from the child, is a friend of the child's parents.

Two men shot dead by thugs in Norwood during SOE

Despite an active Zone Of Emergency in St James, with particular emphasis on Montego Bay, that is geared to curb gun violence. The Jamaica Constabulary Corporate Communications Unit reported another shooting incident in Montego bay. According to the police, on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at about 8:15 pm, a group of people were at a shop in Norwood, St James. Some played dominoes, and others were bystanders when shooters approached the group and opened fire, leaving two dead and four injured, including a nine-month-old baby.

Ticket Master server crashed, couldn’t handle demand for Taylor Swift’s tickets

So, many concertgoers have no alternative if they want to buy tickets for an event.
