Trending in entertainment News: Ticket Master/Live Nation servers crashed. Couldn’t handle demand for Taylor Swift concert tickets
It’s been four years since Taylor Swift’s last tour when she promoted her sixth album ‘Reputition.’ She was due back on tour in 2019 to promote her seventh studio album ‘Lover,’ but the tour was cancelled due to COVID.

So on November 1, 2022, via Twitter, the megastar announced her upcoming ‘Eras’ tour, which kicks off on March 18, 2023, in Arizona; you know her fan would go gaga. Swift said ‘Eras’ is a journey through all the musical eras in her musical career.
Swift is signed to Ticketmaster and Live Nation. Live Nation happens to be the largest concert promoter in the USA. And it is also the parent company of Ticket Master, the largest concert ticket distributor.
The Taylor Swift concert tickets for fans only kicked off on November 16, 2022. Still, the response was so overwhelming it crashed the Ticket Master’s servers. People complained of waiting online for hours to get tickets. And some even complained of getting kicked off the server multiple times. Plus the fees are excessive. This outraged Taylor Swift’s fans and shined a spotlight on a common criticism about Ticket Master-it has no competition. So, many concertgoers have no alternative if they want to buy tickets for an event.
As a result, Concerned citizens who think Live Nation is an unchecked monopoly, are now lobbying lawmakers to break up the marriage between Ticketmaster and Live Nation to lift their stronghold on ticket sales to top events.
Ticket Master and Live Nation used to be separate entities until they merged in 2010, creating a monopoly.
One popular lawmaker tweeted, “Daily reminder that Ticketmaster is a monopoly. Its merger with Live Nation should never have been approved, and they need to be reined in,” US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
