Trending in Jamaica News: Two men shot dead in Norwood 48 hours after Government imposed SOE
Despite an active Zone Of Emergency in St James, with particular emphasis on Montego Bay, that is geared to curb gun violence. The Jamaica Constabulary Corporate Communications Unit reported another shooting incident in Montego bay. According to the police, on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at about 8:15 pm, a group of people were at a shop in Norwood, St James. Some played dominoes, and others were bystanders when shooters approached the group and opened fire, leaving two dead and four injured, including a nine-month-old baby.
Dead are 31 Delano Christie, a shopkeeper and 26 -year-old Jordane Brown.
The six people were taken to the hospital, where Brown and Christie succumbed to their injuries. The others were admitted for treatment.
The police are yet to establish a motive for the shooting. But an investigation is in progress. The shooting happened just 48 hours after the Government imposed a State of Public Emergency in seven parishes, including St James.
Over in the parish of St Thomas, the police recovered an illegal firearm and several rounds of Amo. And placed two men into custody. The police made the find while executing a search warrant during an early morning raid on-premises on White Horses St. The Morant Bay police are investigating.
