Motorcyclists, so far this year, have accounted for 26 percent of all road deaths occurred in Jamaica. Of the 135 fatalities in 121 crashes, 35 were motorcyclists. As Heroes Weekend (October 25-27) approaches road safety authorities are mindful that this is a time usually linked with increased partying and road travel. Increasing partying and road travel increases the possibility of serious accidents and road fatalities. Still, Jamaica has registered 11 percent fewer fatalities, dropping from 335 to 298.
