Prime Minister Holness estimates over J$10 billion in road damage and announces plans to spend nearly $2 billion on critical infrastructure. Agriculture Minister Green anticipates over $1 billion in losses and plans to present a support program in Parliament.

United Nations Releases US$4 Million Aid for Beryl-Hit Jamaica and Other Caribbean Nations.

The United Nations has allocated $4 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund to aid Jamaica, Grenada, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines post-Hurricane Beryl. Dennis Zulu, UN Resident Coordinator in Jamaica, affirmed support and readiness to deploy resources. Hurricane Beryl caused severe destruction in St. Elizabeth and Manchester, prompting humanitarian efforts and assistance. Tragically, a 20-year-old was swept away in a gully in Havanna, Arnett Gardens, St Andrew.
