Car wash operator shot and killed in St Andrew. Detectives in St Andrew have launched an investigation into the slaying of a car wash operator on Saturday night.
The authorities have identified the deceased car wash operator as 59-year-old Samuel Foster.
Around 8:15 p.m., Foster, also known as Alex, was with several individuals at his business located on Central Avenue in St. Andrew. At that time, a gray Toyota Axio drove up in front of the establishment with three masked men aboard.
Two of the men alighted from the vehicle and engaged Foster in a short conversation. Then, the men began to tussle with Foster.
During the tussle, one of the men reportedly got hold of Foster’s licensed firearm and opened fire, hitting him.
Foster attempted to run, but he fell to the ground. Mean while the men escaped in the waiting motor car.
The police responded, and upon arrival, they found Foster lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Officers transported the car wash operator to the hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead on arrival.
Investigators have yet to establish a motive for the shooting.
Detectives from the St Andrew North police division are conducting the investigation.
JCF High Command has interdicted an officer after a woman lost her life in a Granville police shooting
The Jamaica Constabulary Force High Command has interdicted one of its members. The officer allegedly shot and killed a woman unprovoked in Granville, St James on Sunday.
The high Command made the announcement in a news release late Sunday. The news release stated that the JCF is “deeply concerned about the circumstances surrounding” the shooting.
The authorities assured the public that the JCF has reported the deadly incident to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM). And INDECOM has already launched a full investigation into the incident.
Further, the JCF said it made the decision to interdict the officer after reviewing preliminary information, including CCTV footage.
Dead is Granville resident Latoya Bulgin, otherwise called “Buju.” The police officers involved claimed she died during an alleged confrontation with a member of the security forces.
