Police Charged the Alleged Cop Killer in a Gas Station Robbery. On Monday, June 30, detectives from the Half Way Tree Police Department charged a suspect. The police accused the suspect of the fatal shooting of a Police Corporal during a gas station robbery in December 2024. Authorities identified the accused as Ornell Allen, also known as 'Nellie.' He is 32 years old and works as a taxi driver. He is from Westmore Gardens in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Police Charged the Alleged Cop Killer in a Gas Station Robbery. On Monday, June 30, detectives from the Half Way Tree Police Department charged a suspect. The police accused the suspect of the fatal shooting of a Police Corporal during a gas station robbery in December 2024.

Authorities identified the accused as Ornell Allen, also known as ‘Nellie.’ He is 32 years old and works as a taxi driver. He is from Westmore Gardens in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Investigators charged Allen with the murder of 47-year-old Corporal Christopher Smith, who worked at the Trench Town Police Station.

Additionally, detectives charged Allen with conspiracy to murder, six counts of robbery with aggravation. Plus, unlawful possession of a firearm and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

The allegations state that four men went to the gas station on Beechwood Avenue. This happened at about 10:52 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024. They robbed several people there.

Unaware of the robbery in progress, the police officer drove up to buy gas. The gunmen accosted the cop. He resisted, and they shot and killed him before escaping.

The police launched an investigation. They discovered that Allen was with the white 2015 Toyota Wish motorcar used in the robbery and murder.

After further investigations and a question-and-answer session, detectives charged Allen

His court appearance date is pending.

The police have identified the accused as Niokaye Nelson. He is also known as ‘Fast Car.’ He is 23 years old. Niokaye is a chef from Bastard Cedar Walk in Petersfield.

Detectives charged Nelson with assault at common law and using a firearm to commit a felony.

According to reports from the Whithorn Police, a heated argument developed between Nelson and the complainant at approximately noon.

During the altercation, Nelson reportedly drew a firearm and threatened to kill the complainant.

The complainant reported the incident to the police.

As a result, the police launched an investigation that led them to arrest and charge Nelson during an operation.

Nelson’s court appearance date is pending.
