Authorities allege that the teenager, along with two other men, fired shots at the police along Ferry Main Road.

The police withheld the teenager’s identity. He was charged after being released from the hospital. He received treatment for gunshot wounds there.

Investigators charged the teen with several gun crimes, including two counts of assault at common law. They also charged him with possession of a prohibited weapon. Additionally, he was charged with using a firearm to commit a felony and discharging a firearm.

The Hunts Bay police stated that at about 12:55 a.m., a police team was patrolling the area. They saw the boy and two men walking towards them.

Upon spotting the police team, one man armed with a rifle aimed his weapon at the officers. Another man armed with a handgun aimed his weapon at the officers. They both opened fire.

The police team returned fire, but the suspects escaped in different directions.

As a result, the Police searched the area and found the teen in a yard suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers transported the teen to the hospital, where the authorities admitted him for treatment.

His court date is pending.

The police charged twenty-nine-year-old Rushane Douglas, also known as ‘Rush,’ after he allegedly shot two men, one fatally. The shooting allegedly occurred in Constitution Hill, St Andrew, in January 2023. One of the men was fatally shot.

Detectives charged Douglas with multiple gun crimes, including murder. They also charged him with wounding with intent and possession of a prohibited weapon. Furthermore, Douglas is charged with using a firearm to commit a felony and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

The shooting allegedly happened on January 29, 2023, in Gordon Hill in Constitution Hill. It claimed the life of 39-year-old Anthony Clarke, otherwise called ‘Delly.’ He was a security guard from Upper Rose Lane in Hannah Town in Kingston, Jamaica.

The Police reported that at about 12:30 p.m., Douglas had a dispute with Clarke.

During the altercation, Douglas allegedly used a firearm to shoot Clarke and a bystander.

The Police responded and transported Clarke and the injured man to the hospital. The authorities pronounced Clarke dead and admitted the other man for treatment.

Detectives launched an investigation, which ultimately led to the arrest of Douglas. They formally charged on Friday, May 30, 2025.

Douglas’ court date is pending.
