Police identified the deceased as Jenese Francis, 38, a cosmetologist from Albany Housing Scheme in Westmoreland. She shared a child with the constable.

Violence in Jamaica. Preliminary reports indicated that at about 7:40 PM, the constable returned home after completing his tour of duty.

Francis had been lying in wait. When the cop arrived at his residence, Francis emerged from the shadows. She allegedly attacked the constable with a machete.

The constable reportedly drew his firearm. This led to a struggle. During the struggle, Francis was shot three times in the upper body. The constable also sustained a gunshot wound to his palm.

Law enforcement responded and transported Francis to the hospital, where she succumbed while receiving treatment.

Concerned neighbors reportedly took the Constable to the hospital, where the authorities treated and released him.

Unconfirmed reports alleged that Francis had been stalking the constable for some time prior to the incident.

INDECOM is investigating the unfortunate tragedy.

The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Omar Stewart, also known as “Brando,” a resident of Mile Gully.

Violence in Jamaica. According to a police report, around 1:20 a.m., Stewart, armed with a knife, allegedly attacked another man, leading to a dispute. It is claimed that the man successfully disarmed Stewart and inflicted stab wounds on him.

Stewart was pronounced dead at the hospital. Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide. They await further evidence to prove if it was a case of self-defense or murder.

Violence in Jamaica. This incident follows a similar case near the New Green roundabout in Manchester. A fruit vendor was attacked there last Thursday. But, he managed to overpower his assailant. This resulted in fatal stab wounds to the attacker.
