Fatal Crash: Four Died in Mercedes Accident in St. Mary. Early Saturday morning, April 4, 2025, police in Port Maria, St Mary, Jamaica, responded to a one-vehicle fatal crash. The vehicle involved was a white Mercedes-Benz motorcar along the Rio Nuevo main road.

As a result, four males died. Three died on the spot in this fatal crash. Another died in the hospital from injuries they sustained during the accident.

The authorities have identified the individuals as Romario Grey, Brandon Nelson, 23, and Kenroy Fung. Nelson and Fung are from Stewart Town in St. Mary.

The fourth individual was Chad Beckford. He was a 34-year-old carpenter from Stewart Town. Chad drove the Mercedes-Benz motorcar but died in the hospital after the fatal crash.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the driver of the Mercedes neglected to properly navigate a right curve. The driver was heading towards Ocho Rios. This caused the car to crash into several trees before it came to rest in a gully.

In the meantime, Assistant Commissioner Dr Gary McKenzie said that the fatal crash occurred at about 6:40 near the Cool Oasis service station.

Furthermore, ACP McKenzie said driver error and speeding were factors that led to the fatal crash. These issues highlight the challenges being faced by road safety stakeholders.

This is the second multiple-fatal crash that has occurred in the last 48 hours.

Similarly, two pedestrians tragically died on Friday morning. This happened on Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway in Kingston. They were struck by a vehicle.

The police stated that at around 6:30 PM, a motorist was heading toward Harbor View. He lost control of his vehicle. This resulted in a collision that fatally injured two pedestrians.

The authorities took the driver into custody and administered a breathalyzer test. The test came back negative. But he remains in police custody, pending a formal charge of manslaughter following the fatal crash
