Recent Crime Updates: Price Johnson and Wild Street Murders. Police from the St Andrew South CIB have charged Imani Niah Lydner, 38, with 14-year-old Price Johnson’s murder.
Law enforcement also charged Lydner with housebreaking and wounding with intent.
The authorities explained that the wounding charge was connected to Lynder’s assault. It involved a relative of Johnson, who came to her aid during the attack.
Lydner reportedly struck the male relative on the head as he attempted to escape, the police reported.
Recent Crime Updates. According to reports, a man entered Johnson’s apartment. This happened on Thursday afternoon, February 6, while she was at her home in Palm Grove Court, St Andrew.
Moments later, residents heard screams coming from the apartment.
A male relative, who was nearby, entered the residence and wrestled with the intruder, who managed to escape.
The relative found Johnson inside the apartment with wounds to her head and face.
Good Samaritan rushed the injured child to hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.
Law enforcement launched an investigation amid outrage.
Recent Crime Updates. On Sunday, February 9, detectives apprehended Lydner at his home after being reported missing.
Law enforcement took Lydner into safe custody and formally charged him on Tuesday, February 11. 2025.
His court appearance date is pending.
Recent Crime Updates: Damion McRae charged in the 2024 Kingston Triple Murder
MID detectives have arrested and charged a suspect in the May 2024 triple murder on Wild Street, Kingston 16.
The accused man is 24-year-old Damion McRae, o/c ‘Mackerel,’ of Sunrise Crescent, Kingston 19.
Recent Crime Updates. The Police Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reported that on May 13, 2024, at approximately 3:10 p.m., a group of men was gathered along Wild Street when a motor car drove up.
Armed men reportedly got out of the vehicle and opened fire in the direction of the group. Then, they fled the scene in a waiting car.
Recent Crime Updates. Law enforcement responded to the scene of the shooting. Upon arrival, they found Omalie Clarke, 23. They also found Troy Dennis, 20, and 15-year-old Marquise Morgan. All of them are from Kingston and were suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
They transported the injured men to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced them deceased.
A second teenager who got injured in the shooting received treatment at the hospital.
The police launched an investigation, and on February 8, 2025, they arrested McRae.
Recent Crime Updates. Detectives later charged him after an interview in the presence of his attorney.
McRae faces three counts of murder. These include possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition. He also faces one count of wounding with intent.
His court date is pending.
