Highway Crash: Five Dead and Seven Injured in Trelawny. On Sunday morning, July 6, hospital authorities reported that five people were dead and seven others were injured. This was after a Hiace bus veered off the North Coast Highway. It crashed into several palm trees. The tragic highway crash happened around 2:00 a.m. near Salt Marsh in Trelawny, Jamaica. Law enforcement officials stated that excessive speeding was the primary cause of the accident.

Shocking Crime Reports: St. Mary Police Find Pregnant Body. On Sunday, January 5, residents of Devon Pen, St. Mary, discovered the unidentified body of a pregnant woman. Investigators are asking the public for assistance in identifying the remains.

According to reports, at approximately 4:00 p.m., residents summoned the police after finding a body wrapped in a blue tarpaulin along the main Road.

Shocking Crime Reports. The authorities said the deceased woman is of dark complexion and slim build. She appears to be in her mid to late twenties. 

“The body exhibited signs of strangulation, multiple abrasions, and was dressed in a white t-shirt, blue underwear, and black socks. Tattoos were noted on the chest, thighs, and right shoulder,” stated Acting Superintendent Anthony Wallace of the St. Mary police division.

Wallace also mentioned that the deceased appeared pregnant.

Scene of crime detectives processed the scene and transferred the body to a funeral home for post-mortem examination.

Law enforcement has yet to determine a motive for the brutal murder. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect has been identified as Ojay Miles, a laborer from the Long Road district in St. Mary. He is wanted for illegal firearm possession and common law assault.

Acting Superintendent of Police for the St. Mary division, Anthony Wallace, stated that Miles is accused of threatening a 16-year-old girl with a firearm in Enfield, St. Mary, in 2018.

Following an investigation, police charged Miles, and he was later tried in the St. Mary Circuit Court, where he was found guilty.

Miles did not show up in court for his sentencing. As a result, a judge sentenced him in absentia to nine years in prison in 2021. He had been evading police until his capture on Monday.

He confirmed that Miles is now in custody and will be transferred to the appropriate authorities to serve his sentence.
