MANCHESTER, Jamaica: On Saturday, September 7, 2024, the police fatally shot a suspect in Tuesday’s double murder at a bar in Albion, Manchester.
The Authorities said the suspect met his demise during a confrontation in the Newland community near Albion in Manchester.
The police have yet to release the deceased identity but said residents labeled him as a troublemaker in the community.
According to reports, at about 5:30 a.m., the police converged on a house in the community in search of the suspect and were fired upon. The officers returned the fire, and a gun battle ensued.
When the shooting ceased, the police found the suspect suffering from gunshot wounds.
The police rushed the victim to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
Reportedly, one eyewitness, Ainsley Swaby, a close relative of the deceased, said the suspect’s death brought relief to the family and the community.
INDECOM is investigating the shooting.

KINGSTON, Jamaica: Admiral Town Police indicted a suspect with the Murder of Leroy ‘Pi-Pi’ Morgan on July 7, 2024, on Benbow Street in Admiral Town, Kingston 12.

The police charged Rajae Lewis, o/c ‘Piglet,’ and ‘Bragga,’ 22, from Penn Street, Kingston 12, with the charges below:
- Murder.
- Possession of a prohibited weapon.
- Unauthorized possession of ammunition.
- Making use of a firearm to commit a felony.
The deceased, Leroy’ Pi Pi’ Morgan, a call center worker from Beresford Street in Admiral Town, was 35.
The authorities said at about 10:53 p.m. on July 7, a police team on mobile patrol heard explosions and responded to Benbow Street.
Upon arrival, the team found Morgan lying on his right side along the roadway in a pool of blood. He had multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The police rushed Morgan to the Kingston Public Hospital, where the authorities certified him dead.
Detectives launched an investigation and apprehended Lewis on August 31. The authorities indicted Lewis after eyewitnesses positively identified him.
His court appearance date is pending.

The St Andrew Central police arrested two men after the seizure of two illegal guns and 20 rounds of ammunition on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
The seizure took place about 3 a.m. while a police team was on East Kings House Road to serve summonses.

The police said, upon entering the premises, one of the men attempted to flee. But the police cornered and apprehended inside a room.
During a search of the premises, the police found two .38 revolvers loaded with five and six rounds, respectively. The police also seized nine additional rounds of ammunition.
The authorities arrested both men on suspicion of possession of prohibited weapons and unauthorized possession of ammunition, pending further investigation.
Fatal Crash: Taxi Collides with Truck, Three Lives Lost in Spanish Town.
Three individuals tragically lost their lives in a devastating collision involving a taxi on Brunswick Avenue in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Saturday afternoon.

The incident took place around 3:30 p.m. as the taxi driver reportedly lost control of his Nissan AD Wagon motor car, resulting in a collision with the rear of a sand-loaded truck near the stoplight at McCoy’s Land, according to preliminary police reports.
The driver of the car, a male, along with two female passengers, lost their lives in the crash.
This heartbreaking event occurred within a day of firefighter Shahine Nelson’s tragic passing in a two-vehicle collision in the same vicinity of Brunswick Avenue.
