WESTMORELAND, Jamaica: Westmoreland’s most wanted suspect, Carlington ‘Tommy’ Geoffrey, is dead, according to law enforcement officials.
Reportedly, the police killed the 29-year-old during a shootout Friday morning in Little London. One police officer got injured in the incident, the report says.
During an interview, the acting Commander for Westmoreland, Deputy Superintendent ShaunJaye Mitchell, told Radio Jamaica News that the police shot Godfrey after he engaged officers during a targeted operation in Little London.
DSP Mitchell stated that Godfrey had been the target of many operations in and out of the parish.
The senior cop said Godfrey has been wreaking havoc in the parish of Westmoreland for some time. The police have connected him to many violent incidents, including shootings committed in the Frome and Grange Hill areas.
Mitchell urged citizens to support the police and give them with information about suspected criminals operating within their communities.
Godfrey was a hardened criminal. On June 19, 2015, he escaped the Savanna-la-Mar Police lock-up in Westmoreland.
He was wanted for murder, shooting with intent, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The authorities recaptured him two years later in Alexandria.
In 2020, Godfrey was among a group of men charged with being a King’s Valley Gang member. The court dismissed the case after the Crown did not prove any of the counts in the indictment.
18-year-old Sherone Rowe Arrested and Charged with Fatal Stabbing in Manchester.
MANCHESTER, Jamaica: Police arrested and indicted the teen accused of fatally stabbing a 50-year-old man in Top Coffee Grove near Porus in Manchester on Saturday, August 31.
The authorities identified the teenager as Sherone Rowe, 18, a bartender from the Top Coffee Grove community.

According to reports, the teen fled the scene after the incident. His family later fled their home in the area after receiving threats, an unconfirmed source said.
The police charged Rowe with the murder of 50-year-old Fitzroy Wilson, a farmer from the community.
The indictment stated that at about 8:00 p.m., on August 31, 2024, Rowe and Wilson had an altercation.
During the melee, Rowe allegedly used a knife and stabbed Wilson. Later, Wilson collapsed, and Rowe fled the scene.
The police responded, launched an investigation, and transported Rowe to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
The police arrested Rowe, and he reportedly confessed to committing the crime. The authorities formally charged him after an interview.
Rowe’s court appearance date is pending.
Second Man Javauhn Dwyer Charged in Shooting at Wake for Christopher Martin’s Grandmother.
Another individual has been charged by the police in connection with the shooting at the wake of reggae artiste Christopher Martin’s grandmother in Cudjoe Hill, St Catherine.

Javauhn Dwyer, a twenty-year-old bus conductor, also known as ‘JT, faces seven counts of wounding with intent, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a felony, and gang-related offenses. The police disclosed that Dwyer, who hails from the area where the incident occurred, surrendered himself and has since been charged.
He was identified as one of several men of interest after the shooting. Dwyer’s court appearance is awaiting scheduling.
Earlier, 23-year-old construction worker Junior Coleman, from Tredegar Park, Spanish Town, St Catherine, was similarly charged by the authorities. Coleman faced a range of charges, including murder, wounding with intent, possession of prohibited weapons, and involvement in gang-related activities.
In the wake of the August 24 attack, seven individuals sustained injuries, while 34-year-old Oniel Spencer, also known as Tarus, tragically lost his life in a separate but related incident.
