KINGSTON, Jamaica – Three persons, including a woman, died, and four others sustained injuries during a brazen drive-by at a wake in Mandela Terrace, Kingston on Friday.
The police identified two of the deceased as 32-year-old Derrick Goodgame Jr, o/c ‘Ricky,’ a laborer of Chatsworth Ave, and Kimberley Plummer, 23, a customer service representative of the community.
The authorities said the unidentified male is of dark complexion, sporting a plaited hairstyle. He wore a black T-shirt and light blue jeans shorts.
According to the police, the shooting occurred at about 8:45 p.m. Reportedly, residents were attending a vigil on Mandela Terrace. Men armed with guns drove up in a black motor car and opened gunfire in the crowd.
The police responded and found several persons suffering from gunshot wounds.
Concerned citizens and the police rushed the victims to the hospital. Sadly, the medical staff pronounced two men and a female dead on arrival.
The police have yet to prove a motive for the shooting.
The Hunts Bay police are investigating.
Musician Fatally Shot While Washing Car in Kingston 11.
KINGSTON, Jamaica—An unknown assailant fatally shot a musician on Penwood Drive, Kingston 11, Friday night, August 30, 2024, the police said.

They identified the deceased as Kerage Bailey, from the Balmagie Road community in Kingston 11.
The authorities said the tragic incident unfolded at about 8:05 p.m., as Bailey washed his Nissan motor car.
Reportedly, the assailant walked up to Bailey, brandished a gun, and opened fire, hitting him in the upper body. Bailey ran and collapsed on Penny Stone Avenue.
The shooter escaped on foot in the community.
The police responded and transported Bailey to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The police did not prove a motive for the killing. The investigation continues.
Police Investigate $4 Million Theft from Massy Distribution Limited.
In Kingston, Jamaica, authorities have initiated an investigation into the theft of approximately $4 million worth of goods from Massy Distribution Limited, located on Carifta Avenue in St Andrew. Three employees have become the focus of this inquiry.

These employees operated in different departments within the company. The loss was detected after an informal audit by management.
A random stock check conducted by officials uncovered inconsistencies in the inventory, prompting an internal probe.
On Monday, August 26, 2024, the manager, along with senior staff members, examined the CCTV footage recorded.
This footage appears to show the individuals in question loading products like Enfamil and Alacta into the company’s van within the warehouse. Later, the van was driven off the premises.
It is alleged that the individuals did not have the authorization to transport these goods, and there was no accompanying invoice or financial record for the items.
Upon discovering that products including Enfamil, Alacta, Jergens lotion, Ammens powder, and others, cumulatively valued at $4 million, were missing, management proceeded to inform the police.
