Fatal Shooting Claims 51-Year-Old Man in Portmore.

Cops Charged Mandela Highway Robber and Murder Suspect. On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, cops in St. Catherine, Jamaica, charged a suspect with the alleged robbery and fatal shooting that occurred along the St. Catherine section of the Mandela Highway on June 11. Authorities identified the suspect as Nicholas Bhalai, o/c, 'Coolie Bap,' 24, a laborer of Ferry, district, in St Catherine, Jamaica.

Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 51-year-old worker, Adrian Campbell, also known as ‘Skoon’, in Gregory Park, St Catherine, on Friday night.

The incident is said to have taken place around 8 p.m. in Hamilton Gardens, according to police.

Campbell was discovered with gunshot wounds after the sound of gunfire in the area and was later declared dead at the Spanish Town Hospital in St Catherine.

The police have not established the motive for the shooting.

The Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch is looking into the case.

In a separate incident, a 34-year-old man, Kemoy Spencer from Nutts River Road, perished in a collision between his motorcycle and a car in St Thomas on Friday, August 9, 2024, say the police.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. when Spencer, riding a Zamco motorcycle, collided with a Toyota Corolla on Cottage Pen Road in Morant Bay, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Spencer was pronounced dead at a hospital, and the Morant Bay Traffic Department is investigating the crash.

In another case, Dean Shaw, a well-known St Andrew businessman and owner of Shortwood Plaza, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Shortwood Road in St Andrew on the afternoon of Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Witnesses claim that individuals in hoodies on a motorcycle entered the Plaza complex and shot Shaw multiple times.

Shaw was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The Constant Spring Police are handling the investigation into the shooting.

Thirty-seven-year-old security guard Odeen Brown from Middleton district in St. Thomas tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision along Mountain View Avenue, Kingston 6 on Friday, August 9th.

According to reports from the Stadium police, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when Brown, riding a Honda CB Twister motorcycle, apparently got entangled with power lines along the roadway.

This led to a loss of control that resulted in a collision with a utility pole. Brown suffered multiple injuries and, despite being rushed to the hospital, was pronounced dead.

The investigations into this unfortunate event are ongoing.
