Police Search for Suspect in Connection with His Child’s Mother Murder in St. Ann.

The St. Ann police have identified Randy Ttaile as a person of interest in connection with the homicide of his child’s mother, Nadia Binns.

According to reports, Binns, a 42-year-old laborer, tragically passed away at her residence in Helicon District, Discovery Bay in St Ann, on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

In a previous incident, the 42-year-old was chopped and left for dead at her home on January 30.

Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, head of the St. Ann Police, revealed that Binns was the victim of a previous incident, where somebody chopped her multiple times and left her for dead on January 30, 2024.

However, the investigation could not proceed because Binns did not know the culprit. The police believe both incidents are connected and urged Ttaile to surrender.

The police also urged persons with information concerning both incidents to share it with the police.

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, the Narcotics Police detained a Jamaican individual at Sangster International Airport in St. James, suspecting a violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

During a security screening, officers discovered a substance resembling cocaine, approximately nine pounds in weight, within the individual’s luggage.

Around 5:10 p.m., detectives from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division approached the Jamaican national as he was about to board a flight to London, England.

A search of his luggage revealed a hidden compartment containing four kilograms of what is believed to be cocaine.

The street value of the seized substance in the United Kingdom is estimated to be around £94,000 or J$18.7 million.

The suspect was taken into custody, and the police withheld his identity until formal charges were made.

CLARENDON, Jamaica — A Clarendon truck driver has been indicted by the police with very serious charges, including murder, conspiracy to murder, accessory before the fact, and attempting to pervert the course of justice. These charges are in relation to the tragic chopping death of an elderly man on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

The authorities have positively identified the suspect as 22-year-old Tyrese Dixon from Top Halse Hall, Clarendon.

The deceased is 82-year-old Eustas Ricketts, a farmer also of the community.

Reports from the May Pen police indicate that at approximately 3:30 a.m., Dixon and an accomplice allegedly forcibly entered Ricketts’ residence and fatally attacked him with a machete.

When confronted by the police, Dixon informed investigators that he knew nothing about the murder and he did not witness it.

The police said extensive investigations revealed Dixon’s alleged involvement in the murder and arrested him.

On Saturday, May 18, 2024, Dixon admitted to being present at the time of the incident in the presence of two Justices of the Peace.

The police subsequently charged him. His court appearance date is pending.
