The Hanover police are currently investigating the tragic shooting death of 68-year-old Clinton Moodie at his shop in Mount Pellier, Sandy Bay, on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Law enforcement officials reported that at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, residents contacted the police after hearing what sounded like gunshots emanating from Moodie’s shop.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Moodie at his shop, lying on his back over the counter with multiple gunshot wounds.
Moodie was promptly rushed to the hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead by the authorities.
During the processing of the scene, law enforcement recovered a Browning 9mm pistol with a magazine containing five 9mm rounds.
The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.

The individual who tragically lost his life has been identified as Alton Hayles, a 44-year-old former resident of St John’s Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Reports indicate that at approximately 7:10 p.m., Hayles was driving a Toyota Probox motor car from Savanna Cross towards Sandy Bay in Clarendon. Tragically, the vehicle collided with a Honda Vezel motor car, causing it to overturn.
Both Hayles and a female passenger in the Probox sustained injuries, while the driver of the Honda motor car was also harmed in the collision.
Thanks to the kind actions of Good Samaritans, the injured individuals were swiftly transported to the hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Hayles tragically succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical care.
The authorities have launched an investigation into this devastating incident. Our thoughts are with all those affected by it.

Residents made a distressing discovery on Monday morning, April 1, 2024, when they stumbled upon the body of a man in Golden Grove, St Ann. The deceased has been identified as Alcan Rose, also known as ‘Bax’ and ‘Badness,’ aged 56.

According to reports from the police, residents heard gunshots around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night near the Fesco service station. It wasn’t until approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday that the lifeless body of the deceased was uncovered by residents, who promptly alerted the Claremont police.
Upon their arrival, the police found Rose lying on his back with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. The scene was processed, and the body was transferred to the St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, where the unfortunate confirmation of death was made.
As investigations continue, the community remains on edge following this tragic and concerning event.
Hanover Resident Allegedly Pointed Firearm at Neighbor, Faces Charges
A Hanover individual has been accused of brandishing a firearm at their neighbor and is currently facing legal charges.
DANGER IN HANOVER, Jamaica—A shocking incident unfolded in Kingsvale District, Hanover, as a suspect was charged by the police for menacing his neighbor while they were taking out the garbage on March 29, 2024.

Tevin Cooper, also known as ‘Tev,’ aged 24 and residing in Ginger Hill, Kingsvale, Hanover, faces charges of assault at common law and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Allegedly, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the victim was disposing of garbage at home when Cooper, who resides in the same yard, reportedly confronted the victim at gunpoint.
The victim promptly reported the incident to the authorities, leading to a swift investigation, arrest, and subsequent charges against Cooper.

Alleged Gun Found in Car at MoBay Beach Leads to Four Arrests.
Four individuals in St. James have been charged by the police for suspected breaches of the Firearms Act following an incident at an undisclosed beach in Montego Bay on April 1, 2024.
The police identified the individuals as Kenroy Gayle, also known as ‘Keneil,’ aged 26 and a resident of Granville; Shaquille Williams, also known as ‘Shakur,’ aged 28 and residing in Fuller district, Granville; Tian Blake, also known as ‘Tom,’ aged 19 and a resident of Gunns Drive, Granville; and Shian-Lee Bennett, also known as ‘Lee,’ aged 19 and residing in Church Lane, Paradise, Norwood in St James.
The authorities have charged the four suspects with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
At approximately 12:20 a.m., a police team patrolling the community noticed a Nissan AD Wagon motor car blocking the entrance to the beach compound. Upon approaching the driver to request repositioning of the vehicle, the police observed the four individuals behaving suspiciously.
Subsequently, the police conducted a search of the car and the suspects, leading to the alleged discovery of a Canik TP95F Elite pistol with a magazine containing ten 9mm rounds concealed beneath the rear seat of the motor car.
Following an interview with their attorneys, the police arrested and formally charged the four suspects. Their court appearance date is pending.
